I will say that I'm a bit ahead of myself here, and this has not been finalised and OK'd by the admins but if you have any suggestions for a new name for the forum, post them below.

Bear in mind that we also cover distributed audio etc etc.

Is this still ongoing? Ie: is the current name up for change?

Home Entertainment PC is possibly the better all-round name, I think.

the identity of the board is the htpc board.
any signifcant move away from that, imo, could dilute the content of the board.

i dont really want to read threads about which type of cable is better or what mounting bracket is nicer etc etc.
i want to read threads about the advantage of one tv card over another,
the benefits of more ram/faster processor etc etc, but in the terms of media centre, not super-quake-9 running at 4000fps at 2,520x1480 resolution ;)

this forum, as it is, serves a specific need, and the people, and questions, that are drawn to it are drawn by that need.

to encompass the audio, which i dont currently see as being as big a draw, or as specific topic to be encompassed by one forum, we could have something like
    "htpc & music-pc" or "htpc & jukepbox-pc"

gah, its impossible, theres no name for it, and until there is, we cant name a fourm after it.
    "htpc & network a/v"
hmm, that has a nice ring to it, rhymey too....

Tbh, I didn't really think a name chage is required.

    "htpc & network a/v"

Oooh, I like it. Short. sweet and simple. The chance isnt to draw people as such, its to reflect what the board covers. Network audio may not be discussed often, but this is really the only board that could cover the intrgration part.

    How about just "HTPC"
