If the dealer deals the river card before last man is to act what is the official ruling when last player is to act ....

I know on the turn if it happens u deal the river face down put the turn back in and shuffle and deal the turn ..........

Does the same apply in this situation that u put the card back into the deck shuffle and re-deal the river

Yep, shuffle the river card in with the unused portion of the deck and redeal.

If the river is dealt before the turn betting is complete firstly the turn betting is completed then the exposed river card is put back into the deck and shuffled. The river is then dealt without a burn card.

With regard to the turn card being dealt before the flop betting is finished, I've seen different rules used in different club.

Three that I know of are

    1. Complete the flop action. Burn and turn what would have been the river as the turn card, complete the turn action then shuffle the origional exposed turn card into the deck and deal a river without burning

    2. Complete the flop action then shuffle the exposed card into the deck and deal the turn without burning. Then burn and turn the river as normal.

    3. The ruling you have given Neill. I personally dont like this ruling as you are leaving a card on the table and if it is marked in any way a player could know what the card is.

Yep same as normal. If it happens before the turn betting is completed. Burn card and place river card face down. Then re shuffle remaining cards with the exposed card. This is the only way to go i think

BSP rulings are fine according to 'official rules', what ever they are.

Span: dunno where u came up with your take. When a card is exposed for whatever reason, preserving the originally shuffled sequence of the cards in the deck, as best as possible, is way more important than pretty much everything else. All cards should be dealt in their shuffled sequence except for the exposed card(s). The possibility of marked cards is barely a factor, if at all.

It doesn't matter what the original sequence was. It's all random anyway. The reason a card is burned before flop turn and river is to prevent marked cards from being seen so why take this out of the game by leaving a card face down in the middle of the table.

I thought preserving the original sequence was the most important aspect. like when a dealer deals the turn before a player acts and it has to be redone the first thing that happens is the river card and burned card are left aside.

Wrong, very wrong. While I actually agree with you in some respects, Luke Ivory corrected me on that. People are more comfortable with the way fate is set once the shuffle is done and not with the way the deck is reshuffled after each action as is done online. Ppl hate that, but it is done for security reasons. It's like determinism versus sorta quantum-like unpredictability and determinism wins.

If you don't agree, I suggest you do an experiment next time you're in a card club. Insist, through the TD, that the deck gets reshuffled after the flop and turn, giving your reasons and see what happens to your credibility. Let us know how it turns out.....
