Wii Region Locked?

Now that the Wii has been released here, does any one know if euro games will play on an american wii or vise versa? Want to get a wii, but seems to be no chance getting one here so im thinking of picking up an american one. Trying to find out if theres any problems getting online or setting up accounts on a american wii…

Wii is region locked and so far no-one has cracked it. Even the infamous free loader for the gamecube doesn't make a difference
