I know it's late and Fajitas will be giving out to me for posting after a few pints but sadly, again, a good friend has died this week. My dad died in August but Felim was only 41 with two young children and a beautiful wife. He got a clot that went to the heart. He was a wonderful person and a great flute player. I have mentioned before that a lot of the photos I take are of friends and family. Photos that mean something to me but are not really C&C stuff. Anyway. I'll share this with all my friends here. Felim RIP:

Thats beautiful Danny. I also lost someone very very special to me this week. Sadly I dont have any photos to remember/honour her with. Only the ones in my head, and she will be dearly dearly missed.

    RIP to your friend Danny.

    Here's to happier times

Thanks very much everybody. Mike and 440, my sincere sympathies to ye both.

Felim was brought home yesterday and I brought out a framed photo of him. Drinking a pint at his local. While it was initially painful for his family, they were so happy with it and have it beside his coffin. They keep referring to it and how wonderful it is to look at him and have him looking back at them. A photograph is so so powerful in situations like this and so theraputic (Spell?)

I hope this doesn't sound too morbid. It is not meant to be and it is not in reality.

This is a beautiful idea. We did this for my Granddad. It was a closed coffin so my Dad placed a beautiful photo he took of his father on the lid. Like you said, at first it was very painful to look at it, but after the initial shock it was quite comforting. A nice way to say goodbye.

Lovely thought Danny, and a nice way for them to remember the day knowing people cared enough to be so thoughtful. You have given them something very special.

My aunt died last year (we were very close) and I remember at the funeral I couldn't take my eyes of the photo they'd placed on the coffin. Just a snap really, but it captured her perfectly..

I'm very sorry about your friend. Its sad at any age, but 41 is too damn young.
