Irish Bank --> PayPal Solution At Last!

    Hi,

Okay, they might shut this loop hole down but here's how to get funds from your Irish bank Account into your PayPal account!

First off you need a Betfair account -- easy to set up and they accept instant lodgements from Laser Cards or transfers to their Irish Bank Account.

You'll need to transfer a one off seven euros from your PayPal account -- I just used a 3V Voucher -- which you can withdraw at any point.

Once you have done this you can now place any ammount into your Betfair account with your Laser Card and then straight away lodge this to your PayPal account.

If there is a snag -- I haven't noticed it yet. I've had my Betfair account for years so maybe that's the reason that I can do it so easily. I'd be interested to know if others can do this as I have.

Ridiculous that we need to go to this lengths though with Paypal based in Dublin. You would think they could set up an Irish Bank Account like Betfair has or at lease except Laser Card lodgements.

PayPal are working on adding Laser card to its list of accepted cards but it's just a process that gonna take time.

You've got to be kidding me! They have been saying that for four years now - I have the emails to prove it. It's a very simple process to set up - as is the abilty to transfer money from an Irish Bank account.

The problem is why are Laser cards so different to other debit cards? My current Laser also has a Maestro logo, but I still seemingly can't use it in other countries who accept Maestro.

I got so sick of Paypal and debit cards and shopping online with 3v etc, that I just went and got a credit card through BOI, no more hassle.

I too was sick of them, thats why I went to so much trouble. Couldn't get a credit Card as on Disabilty Allowance so this was my only option.

Opening a betfair account is easy. Actually they gave me a free 25 Euros after I placed my first 25 Euros bet. I just put 25 Euros on a team that were 2-0 up and and the game was 1 minute into extra time :)

Now when I want to put money into my Paypal account I just log on to Betfair.com and Deposit whatever amount I want to into my account and then transfer it in an instant to my Paypal account. It's as easy as that!

ps .. for those without a Laser card you just need to transfer from your Bank account to Betfair's Irish Bank account at the Ulster bank. You can do this online or over the phone as I do with 1890365365 with Bank Of Ireland.

How exactly do you transfer from betfair to paypal?

Okay, they just changed the rules today as I think I wasn't the only ones trasferring to PayPal from Ireland. Obviousily not an issue for UK customers as if they wanted to deposit money to PayPal they just use their cards or bank account - so no reason for them to go through Betfair.

The rule change only applies to Card Deposits to Betfair I think as is as follows: You must have withdrawn 10% more money BACK to the card than you deposited before you can withdraw funds from Betfair using PayPal.

So, if say you placed 50 Euros into Betfair with your Laser card you must depost back 55 Euros before you can then withdraw funds via PayPal.

So, I'm just gonna now lodge funds with my Bank Account to Betfair and see if will allow me to transfer that into my PayPal account -- I'll post back.
