I want to get a second ac adapter for my laptop its an HP Pavilion zd8228EA
its part of the zd8000 series the part number I need is 378768-001 or
374743-001 . there about €160 on most uk website. ive seen some on Ebay from the usa seller for about €50 p&p. My question is will a us adapter work ok. will there be any problems with voltage or it not being earthed because its 2 pin plug. can I just put a 3 pin adapter on with no problems?

Yes, the adapter will work. What I did with my HP laptop when I brought it back from the US was to remove the cable from the adapter (the part that goes from the wall to the adapter) and replcace it with and Irish cable, containing an Irish plug. This part is not hard-wired in, so it is just like removing a cable from any domestic appliance.

If you did not do this, there would be no problems using a US-to-Irish plug convertor.
