    I am being a lazy arse and it might not possiblely being written on it but I have a Dell D-5150 desktop pc and was wondering if anyone knew what brand/model of 16x dvd+/- rw they fit. All it tells me in device manager is "HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-H21N". Did a google and LG popped up a couple of times but would like to be 100%

    Cheers

    It's LG the GSA-H21N is an OEM model produced for the likes of Dell/HP, not available in retail.

    Moving to Comp/Tech as well.

    Same thing most optical drive companies are a partnership of two companies for example;

    NEC & Sony (Sony was once with Lite-On)
    Toshiba & Samsung (Toshiba still operatives it's own ODD division)
    BenQ & Philips (dissolved after Lite-On bought BenQ)
    Pioneer & NEC (still active)
    Lite-On stands out as the just bought smaller competitors reducing the number of players in the market.
