    From this weeks local press...

    A SHAKEDOWN FAMILY CHRISTMAS
The Shakedown Family Christmas is here, and its here to save Christmas. It takes place this Saturday night December 16th at The Bowery with a big festive line up across two rooms. In the club Tommy Boy & DJ Louis will be manning the decks playing some of the best indie tracks about - as the most recent Shakedown Mix Album showed they know the exact balance between cutting edge and crowd pleasing favourites. In the pub are Daz, Martin Roche, Paul Bryan & Keith Hogan playing disco, house & 80’s music with Simon & Marc on live percussion and Paddy Casey band member Johhno on Flute.

While Shakedown has been the clubbing phenomenon of Waterford for the past five years, it seems to have given birth to another as Daz & Martin’s mixed up sets of funk have been going down a storm in the Pub. With some of the best musicians in Waterford getting in on the act from sax, to flute to percussion its one of the most exciting rooms to be in on any Saturday night and even more so this Saturday night.

Yes, ‘A Shakedown Family Christmas’ is here to save Christmas, its all about Christmas’s of old and putting some of that festive magic back into a season best known these days, for consumer over indulgences. As always with Shakedown events of this nature nothing is revealed in advance, but given the name of the night and Shakedowns reputation for pulling off some of the best stunts of the last 5 years, and pardon the cliché, expect the unexpected, but festive style! Shakedown wants you to take part in the occasion by digging out you favourite Christmas jumper for the ‘Best Christmas Jumper’ competition. You know the score - those jumpers somebody thought would make a great present but probably haven’t seen the light of day in sometime, if ever. Lets admit it now, if Tommy Boy was eligible for this competition he would surely be a favourite for those fine examples he has displayed in the club, and not just at Christmas! Shakedown, Saturdays, The Bowery, 11pm. 10euros. www.shakedownclub.com
