Are they still ad free? I recall seeing ads on Christmas Day the last couple of years. That might have been in-between programmes though.

That was on a fortnight ago.

Where are all the RTE Christmas classics like Dr. Zhivago, The count of monte Cristo, Indiana Jones etc.??? Don't RTE just repeat these films ad nauseam every Christmas - I see they have Ben Heur on again, RTE must be showing it since it was made back in the 50's

    I'm shocked. No It's A Wonderful Life:eek:

Either TV3 or TG4 better come to the rescue or I'll have to get the DVD.

Not a bad line up but I've seen a good few of them in cinema, DVD etc.

if yopu are buying the dvd be careful, they've realesed a 60th anniversary edition which is no different to the older dvd version, just so they could raise the prive again.

pirates of the carribean was on last year on christmas day on rte, so a bit disappointing theres not something newer this year, school of rock and love actually were on some other channels in the last two weeks so again not that great. Not a bad range of movies, but the only one that jumps out at me is monsters inc.

They have some savage movies on this Christmas. A lot of them I have seen over and over again over the last couple of Christmas's, but I can never get enough of Intermission. Thats deadly.

What about The Lord of the Rings trilogy? It has been shown on Ch4 twice already. This is a poor line-up, they are taking the piss with Octopussy. Mind you Entrapment is on BBC1 on Xmas night so it could be worse.

Remember the massive hype, the Oscars, the fact that the book is loved by millions. I'm not saying there crap and if your into that kind of thing it's grand but it's not everybodies cup of tea especially at Xmas when a lot of Grannies and kids are watching television. Personnally I found them a bit too long and guilty of sticking a little to closely to the book. The last one went on about 20 mins too long.

No Home Alone or Jingle All the Way. Will be relying on Sky Movies this season, I think!

Home Alone was shown only a few weeks ago

Home Alone 2 is on RTE 2 at some stage and Home Alone is on Channel 4 I think...don't have the TV guide handy so can't tell you when exactly coz I'm too lazy ;)

Yeah, Home Alone III was on a few weeks ago. Have seen that so many times. Along with the janitor from Scrubs...haha. I find the films good this year, but as I barely watch films, I'll prob only end up watching Harry Potter
