    Hi all,

I'm looking for some Iaido and Kenjutsu dojo in Dublin.

    actually I found this one:
    www.iaido.ie

But they have class only on monday.

    Any suggestion?

If not, do you know some place where I can train (also alone), my kenjutsu and my Iaido?

as well, I'm looking for also an Aikido dojo, but this is less difficult to find.

    Thanks,

    Ben

Here's a link to most (probably all) of the Aikido clubs in Ireland...

    http://www.aikidoinireland.org/admin/dispdojos.php3

I train in Swords, you're welcome to come out and have a look anytime to see if it's what your looking for :)

The Bujinkan has kenjutsu and iaijutsu (not iaido) in its curriculum but our primary focus is taijutsu. (tai = "body")

Our sword comes from mostly 2 schools: Kukishinden Happō Biken
    and Togakure Ryu Ninpo.

www.bujinkan.ie will get you contact details.

No sword class at the moment... we alternate weapons training and it's Jo at the moment probably until after Christmas. Sword training is a mish mash of Aikibokken/Aikiken with Kashima Shinryu.

The classes are held in Coláiste Choilm Secondary School, Main St, Swords on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7.30 - 9.30pm. Weapons on Mondays for the first hour. Ray the teacher is 3rd Dan Aikikai and an excellent one at that (though I am totally biased :D )

    Pearsquasher,

    Thanks for your explanation.
I'm not interested now in Taijutsu, because I practice traditional jujutsu (from about 20 years) and actually I'm leading an historical research on a ryu of jujutsu...I want to be focused on it.

    MaeveD,

Thanks hope to see a lesson on Wednesday 20, if is possible.

I'll arrive in Dublin on saturday 16th December, hope that I find a way to bring my Iaito, Bokken, and kodachi (wooden), with me.
I can study Iaido also alone, at home, but is difficult to study Katori shinto ryu kenjutsu at home...:p

    Thanks

    Ben

    Hey Ben,

Unfortunately, we're finishing up for Christmas on the Wednesday the 13th Dec and we're back on the mat Mon 8th Jan.

Hope you can still make it out? Have you done Aikido before... who'd you train with?? We train a French style of Aikikai through Philippe Gouttard 6th dan and Christian Tissier 7th dan.

Good luck getting your bits and pieces in... I've had trouble traveling abroad on occasion just with a bokken... sometimes it's good to insist it's just a wooden stick if they ask, and the Iaito is a pressie for someone ;) If you wrap them up well (really well) together and check them in you should have no bother!

    Yes, I still practicing aikido.
I did Aikido with Erik Louw (Amsterdam) and in Rome at the H. Tada dojo.
But I quit Aikikai years ago....I gain my shodan in aikido with an italian federation. I met Tissier sensei in Rome, one/two time per year he comes for a seminar. And of course I like his Aikido.
Well, I'm not lucky....for this year....I'll meet you in the next year...on the mat on the 8th of Jan :o...or sooner for a beer :D

Thanks for your suggestion...I'll do my best!

    Ben
