Dance Band Days RTE Recording?

I'm hoping someone here can help me.

I want to get a hold of Recordings of RTE Radio 1's 'Dance Band Days' Jazz programme. Part 1 was on 23rd Nov and Part 2 was on 30 Nov. Part 3 may have or will soon air. Has anyone recorded this conventionally off the radio or have the ability to record the archived Real media streams?

Its just that I'd really like to get hold of these for my Grandad who was in the Phil Murtagh Jazz Orchestra/Band and the show had a lot of the recordings of the band besides the fact that he would know every musician in every other band mentioned or played on the show and would enjoy the show regardless of whether he was in it himself.

He is still playing in the Killiney Castle every Sunday afternoon at age 87. And Tenor Sax at that. Blowing that sax is probably why he is still alive. I wouldn't have a quarter of his lung capacity and I'm 55 years younger!! :D He's also just had open Heart Surgery at 87 and is recovering better then men half his age. He is a legend :D and can't wait to get back playing his gigs on the Sunday.

I'd love to get my hands on this show for him to listen to while he recovers from his op.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance.

By the sounds of that, you have located the real audio streams on the web?
If you play them on yer PC (macs can do similar but I do not have one)
you can record from the soundcard directly using Audacity.
Audacity is free and can record from line in or microphone or just record
stuff that is playing on your PC or laptop.
You lose some sound quality but not enough to notice much if it is just a
    radio programme?

    neat, no?
I use it for e.g. getting stuff off casette tapes, vinyl (via a lead from output from hifi into laptop) or for recording sound off video clips (e.g. from youtube; tunes I want to transcribe) via sound card.

The default file format is WAV I think which is the same as the default CD format. To get MP3s out, you have to get the LAME plugin for Audacity which is really easy to install and use (install once and it is then a permanent menu
    item in audacity).

Very cool little programme alright. I Exported them as WAV's. The programmes are 50minutes long so rather than one huge track, I'd like to split the Wav into smaller tracks. Reckon I'll split them at the beginning of each song played so he can skip straight to the music although I know he'll listen to it the all the way through the first time to listen to the interviews etc.

Can you recommend a free bit of software Desmo mate to split the wav or can audacity do it?

I THINK Audacity can do it but have not done it myself.
