    Looking for DDR2-533 SODIMM Memory.

I usually get it here but their site directs you to another shop and their prices seem dearer than I remember.

    Any suggestions?

Crucial.com prices, think these are slightly cheaper. There is an eBay store I use that has very decent prices for Dell memory, I'll try and find it.

PC Worlds prices are actually relatively good for DDR2 ram - I got a 512mb ddr2 533mhz module there for about 65 euro.

I have this faster stuff in an Inspiron 6400 (thats to say I installed 667Mhz not 533mhz) and it works fine because DDR2 can adjust its speed very well to the circumstances , cost me €90 for 1Gb

    1GB DDR2 SODIMM PC5400 PC2 PC-5400 667Mhz 1 GB

    see

but the post could be crap as its christmas

Does it make much of a difference the speed?

I want to put an extra gig in for vista

You will not really notice a difference between the 533 and the 667 and definately not in everyday tasks.

funny enuff the centrino duo does not respond with vastly improved performance to the extra gig of memory as much as the old centrinos would have .

The centrino duo in the 6400 is a bloody fast chip and must have very efficient l2 caching .
