There will be satellites in DCU in the Old Bar on the 11th of December for the “Irish National Student Poker Championship”

It will be a €5 re-buy tournament with a €5 scalp, re-buys will be for 2hrs.

When you buy-in you get a scalp chip but you will only receive a persons scalp chip when you knock them out completely!

They will probably be 14 tickets up for grabs!

There are 4 re-buys and 1 top-up, so you can spend a max of €30
There is a limit to 80 people so if you would like to play please e-mail me to book your place at pokersoc@redbrick.dcu.ie

It will be a 20/25 minute clock for re-buys and 20 minute clock for the freezout.

Registration is starts at 6pm and we Kick-Off at 7pm. As there is limits spaces please email us!

As it is in a bar you can drink while you play!!!! BOOZE!!!!!
There will also be food provided at the break (hopefully pizzas).

Whats a scalp?i dont think i've ever played a tournament with scalps......fill us in on them yea?!

Scalps is where by everyone playing gets a special token (a scalp) And when you knock out someone they give you there token (their scalp) and at the end of it you get to totel up how many scalps you have and you exchange them for cash, probably a fiver per scalp in this case.

Not sure where to old bar is but I think Conor is going to do about a 50/50 cash/tickets payout....Don't quote me on that though as I haven't asked him.

The Old Bar is in the HUB. Its hard to explain where exactly it is, cause it depends which way you come in. Its basically in the center and there is a sign on the building saying "THE HUB". If you have any problems there will be people floating about, ask anyone and they will tell you.

We are hoping to pay out as many tickets as possible but there will also be cash payout. We might to what the old Merrion used to do on those famous Monday nights. Pay out as many tickets as possible and use the money that couldn't make up a ticket and give the bubble money!?

Hey just another quick note, if you want to play in the satellite tournament please bring along your student card. Don't want someone wining a ticket and then not being able to play in January because they aren’t a student!

can any student from any college play in these satellites? or is this only for dcu players?

Anyone from any college in ireland can play. All you have to do is show a valid student card and then you can play!

Thanks to everyone who turned out to the satellites. There was a great turnout with close to 70 people. There was 9 tickets in the end up for grab with the bubble getting money close enough to buy there own.
