I am moving from bridge to SLR soon and was just wondering - how does the macro button work on a bridge camera? What exactly does it do? The "macro" function on these cameras are crap. It just enables you to focus from that little bit more closely. Nowhere near a substitute for a macro lens. On an SLR, you'll need a dedicated macro lens.
