Bass pedal.

    Looking for some advice please. I was hopeing to buy a bass pedal for my
    16 yr old bass playing son! He is into evetything from heavy metal to jazz!
    Any ideas on what would be a first pedal to buy. I was looking at a DIGITECH BASS SYNTH WAH on THomman, for €75. What do ye thing? many thanks.

    Something like this perhaps. Nice introduction to effects. Not too crazily expensive like someof the bigger pedal boards. Afraid I don't have much personal experience of bass effects so I can't comment on the quality of the sounds. All I know is I started out using a Zoom guitar effects pedal and it was grand until I got greedy and wanted loads of sounds.

    Thanks Don1. I will run it by him later. I missed that while looking thru the
    catalog. We have used Zoom units before, got guitars, and they were grand.

    Does he actually need a pedal?

    I'd advise against one of those cheap multi effects like the Zoom. You'd be better spending the same amount of money on a single effect that he'll have for life. What sort of music does he listen to and play on the bass?
