Just wondering if anyone had anything to say about the general quality of these cameras, particularly the F20 - I'm on a budget, and this is one of the cameras I can afford.

    Anyone have any experience/advice??

Its not for anything hugely serious; just need a camera for nights out/holiday snaps etc.

    thanks a mil

I own a fuji finepix 2800zoom and its a smashin camera have it about three years now. Very easy to use and I have had no problems with it whatsoever, as a bonus I even won couple comps with photos taken with it!!!

I would definitly recommend its 6X optical zoom (you select what you want in the picture) and the newer models now have more pixels than my 2.0 megapixels which prints up to and A4 photos beautifully..

    an absolute cracker;)

not the same type of cam, but I have had my hands on a s5000 and s7000, as well as an old 40i (pocket size)

All of which I have been happy with in terms of build, uncomplicated menu systems, and results (for the price).

Hopefully something else from the range will suit you.
    Happy hunting

If you don't mind me asking whats your budget? I have a S5500 and I started with a Fuji 1300 (1.3MP) and upgraded to the S5500, no complaints. My brother bought the upgrade S5600 for €350 back in July probably even cheaper now and his g/f has the Fuji A470. Have to say Fuji make great cameras.

Have to say whatever model you buy, can't make a mistake in Fuji.

I have an ancient FinePix (A303) and it takes great shots, i brought it to New York and all sorts of places and i'm getting a FinePix F30 this christmas.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a FinePix to anyone.

Also there are some good deals on the F30 + 1GB + case around, i had been thinking about the F20 but it wasn't working out much more and i liked alot of the features on it.

If I were you I'd avoid the F20 I've used it and I hated it lens quality is terrible I just couldn't get decent results out of it no matter how hard I tried even on simple shots.

You can pick up an S5600 for just over €200 now - this is a far superior camera I just can't fault it for the price - sure it's not as compact but who cares if the end result is good.

Yay to the S5600. I'd buy it myself if my old S5000 wasn't still working so sweetly.

Not that it matters (much), but I also think they're by far the nicest-looking/handling cameras of their class... :)

I have a Finepix A340 and it works grand, 4.0mp and 3x optical zoom. The only thing I find annoying is the storage media is an XD card which are one of the slowest kind these days.

I have a F420 and I love it. It's very compact but full of features and has a great build quality. The screen quality is top notch also. Based on my experience if I ever needed to buy another compact I would certainly consider Fujifilm again.

I am using a S9500. Can't fault it really (well, I could, but only in comparison to much more expensive cameras that I lust after)
