mmmh nearly all searches take less than 1 second according to the stats. The server is based in the US, so depending on where your located the speed will vary (latency). Certainly from the HEA network and from Eircom broadband the speed seems decent, but if your using dialup, it'll probably be slow due to the number of images.

your right it is either instant or wont work at all, about every 4th search i have to close the browser (ie7) and open a new one

    I hope you are ProjectMayhem.

Yes, I am doing my best to promote Bigulo here on Boards, and I have started a whopping big 2 threads about it.

But I do read boards frequently and post whenever I have something to say, so I think it's a bit unfair to say I am spamming. Basically I am trying to a get an Irish website up and running and hopefully popular. If there are issues with this, let me know. From what I can see I am not the only person trying to get something started on this forum.

I want to get to the bottom of this, since there could be a lot of people effected by it. We're testing it in IE7 right now, previously we've only been testing it on IE6, FF1.5 and FF2.

Does it happen at specific times of the day? Like in the afternoon or in the middle of the night?
Do you get an error message?

Has anyone else had similar problems?

And thanks for bringing this to our attention, we apprechiate the feedback.

i am amazed that you didnt know about this problem, i showed your site to loads of people (on their computers) and it would hang on the third or forth search, and i would just exlpain the you have to close and re-open it sometimes, no one really minded

anyway just checked their now and its working fine since you added the hot or not

    feature request...
I really wish all links opened in new windows, its common to get a few results that might be the person i'm looking for and its quicker to close the ta/window then to press back and wiat for it to reload the search results page, might take some strain of the servers too?????

We've been arguing this one internally for a while now.

Opening pages in new windows by default is somewhat frowned upon these days, especially given that all browsers now support tabs. But that said, most browsers would automatically a new window link (i.e. one using target=_new)in a new tab anyways, so what odds?

    What do other people think?
