Has anyone got any experience\recommendations for calibrating a laptop to display images correctly. I have an inspiron 6000 and its finally time I sorted out the display. There is a pretty big difference between images I view on this and images that i get printed or view elsewhere. My screen is pretty bright but with low contrast. Any personal recommenations on software/hardware etc would be appreciated.

I'm using a GretagMacbeth Eye-one display 2 for monitor calibration.

Take a picture and get it proccessed then adjust screen to match the picture. Nearly everywhere uses Fuji machines so its fairly standard. pretty cheap to do

If you have Photoshop then do a search for Adobe Gamma on your comp and use that. It did a pretty good job on my comp!

There's a thing about this in one of the photo mags I bought over the weekend. I'll scan the article and post it tomorrow (scanner at work).
