Question about Veronica Guerin

Not strictly a News & Media topic I guess, but I couldn't think of anywhere else.

When she was shot at her home, where did she live? I remember a few years back driving down the back roads of Clonshaugh, and my ma pointing out the house where she lived. I kinda questioned it at the time, because I'd gone past that house a hundred times. But now, I seem to recall hearing somewhere a long time ago that she did live in Clonshaugh. I still question whether this was her house as this was a small cottage.

Anyway, does anyone know because it's been bugging me for years. Google doesn't help as it brings up thousands of movie reviews rather than actual information about her.

She wasnt shot at her home, she was shot in her car at traffic lights on the Naas Rd.

She was shot at her home, but she survived. She was shot and killed on the Naas road.

According to Wikipedia, it was on the 30th of January 1995 - she was shot in the leg.

So she was, I forgot that, I thought the OP meant the fatal shooting.

    What makes you think that?

I think that there were 2 seperate shooting incidents at her home.

There was. The one where she was shot in the leg, and an earlier incident where a shot was fired through her window.

She lived in Clonshaugh all right. Just past the Coachman's there's a right turn and a bridge, I recall. It was up there.

Wow, what kind of bridge exactly? I can picture the right turn at Coachman's (they've since redeveloped that road there, but the layout remains much the same) The only thing that could pass for a bridge in that area is right outside the house my ma was talking about. Driving on it, it would just seem like part of the road, but if you're walking and look over the stone wall, you can see that a little, trickly stream runs underneath the road. Is that the place you're talking about?

Hmm, the time I was there was after Gilligan's conviction, what six years ago? But I do seem to recall it was a stone bridge, perhaps humped.

    That's probably it. Cheers!
