Paranormal activity and stormy weather?

    Hi,

Just a quick thread to see what everyone else thinks. With all this crazy stormy weather has anyone noticed an increase in spiritual activity?
I've heard before that spirits can feed off electrical energy like storms and show themselves more strongly than normal weather.

I never really thought about it too much until today as I am feeling energy much more strongly than usual.

    Discuss and enjoy.......

Depends on what you term as spirits. :)
There certainly is a charge in athmosphere.

I've felt at least one spirit of a child around here but haven't gone too far into finding out who they are and I got some wonderful healing from an angelic being earlier.

What have you noticed changing in the atmosphere?

I dont notice any increase in the ammount of spirits/ghosts around but it would stand to "reason" that a charge atmosphere may lend itself to being used.

I always feel more alert & alive in harsh/stormy weather ..... I'd even go as far to say a little amorous! I'd be one for getting frisky in a rainy wood as opposed to a sunny beach.

Warm/hot weather has the opposite affect on me. I feel latargic, unmotivated and drained.

What else are you going to do on a dark and stormy night other then try and out creak the wind with your bed :)

I could nip up the road and streak the Hellfire Club?

Anyway on topic: Electrical storms which happen in dry weather may be better conditions for paranormal activity, not 100% why, but I do know that in cases where people have a problem with activity in their homes etc some groups suggest the use of a humidifier to add moisture to the air to dissapate any buildup of charge in the air.

Obviously I'm just saying what I've heard ;)

hi i joined a few weeks ago, and this is my first post, reply, i was very interested to read several posts, i have always seen the entities you call shadow beings, and felt the energy associated with them,I am experiencing a very strong feeling of a presence as i am typing this, its a very sorrowfull presence and i feel a strong urge to cry, spooky eh, i can also water divine, i use a clothes hanger, and can tell by the way a ring spins on a chain yes and no answers, i have a stron draw for angels but know nothing about them, wouldent it be marvelous to get heeling from them?

Theres a nice thread at the top of the forum for saying hi. This thread is about possible relationships between weather and paranormal activity.

btw thats a really long sentence.

Wow Angelic forces can do cobbling too ?
Do they do soles as well as souls and heels ?

I would be wary of what trys to present it's self to you as an angel.

Welcome claredude, nice to see a new person come aboard.

While I wouldn't discount more activity during stormy weather, I do have to wounder if our own imaginations have some aspect to it also, in that with a windy, rainy, cold night do we not tend to think of scary things that go bump in the night or is it just because of the weather outside that we feel that any presence someone may feel is intensified due to the weather been so stormy. I know I felt a little more activity around the weather, mainly outside the house and it did unnerve me somewhat, but I still had to ask myself was it because the trees were bending so voliently and the wind was whistling or would I have been as uneasy if it was a calm summer night.

I read an article recently that described feelings of being watched, presences in the room etc being induced in patients via electrical stimulation of areas of the brain (Sorry, vague but the article eludes me and I can't find it online). Allegedly it's easy enough to reproduce this effect given the correct levels of stimulation. Patients described 'someone' trying to remove playing cards from their hands as they shuffled them, and the feeling of being hugged from behind by 'a being'.

Perhaps the charge in the air during storms could replicate some variation of these auditory and visual hallucinations in sensitive people? This could be one explanation for the apparent increase in spiritual activity during these periods.

Ion charges cause that and it was part of a huge experiement carried out in the Edinburgh Vaults a couple of years back. I must dig out the article.

    Something quick to ponder:

High winds, like we have been having recently can give a rise in infrasound, and that can explain more sightings

Also, a higher pressure can cause changes on the brains neuro-chemicals which can also lead to sightings

Here's another one from a study. Every wonder where the term lunatic comes from? Simply, Lunar. as in the moon. In a study in care homes, I have been told by my contact that the patients do exhibit much stronger behaviour patterns during the full moon. Postulated theory, lunar effect on gravity can lead to a shift in neuro-chemicals and thus excessive fire from the neurons. This is especially noted in people who already have chemical imbalances.

Just a few ideas on how weather can affect ya.

    Dear all,

I have recently had a spiritualist experience through a medium who communicated with my "dead" grandmother and grandaunt. There was no way the medium could know my grandfather's or my grandaunt's name, but she did and while actually speaking to my grandmother she said things she could not otherwise know unless she was indeed in communication with my grandmother.

Did anyone else in here have similar experiences. I am a very sceptic individual but have stopped being so in regards to spirits and would very much like to know if there are people in Ireland in the same situation as I really doubt there are such thing as a Spiritualist Church in Ireland, unlike what happens in the UK.

    Best wishes, Rui.

Doesn't make sense though. A full moon is just the moon not covered by the Earth's shadow. There is no difference in gravitational pull.

Visually the full moon may have a psychological effect for cultural reasons but there is no physical way a full moon will affect someone.

    Really ?
The moon's gravity has no effect at all ?
    Tell that to the tides.
The human body is affected by gravity and 80% of it's make up is water.

But by what monkeyfudge says, how can a shadow on the moon make a difference to how it makes its afffect?

I'm talking about a full moon. It has no more gravitational pull than the moon at any other point in it's cycle. I'm no expert on tidal forces, but I am aware that differences in tidal forces take place over a 24 hour period, not a lunar month.

Also it would only really exert a pull on large bodies of water, it's not going to have the same effect on a glass of water or the water contained in your body and if it did it would be over the course of a day.

Have we had this discussion before? ha.

Infrasound is an interesting one though, that does produce unsual effects on a human body.

He said there's no difference, not that there was no effect.

Anyway, I thougth the moons orbit was eliptical, not circular. That's the reason why some places have really odd water behaviour (like the place in England somewhere, where a small tidal wave makes it's way up a river, in the opposite direction to the currant). Sorry for going a little OT :)

Ah, if you look here, you'll see a small diagram of the moons orbit. It's elliptical and the earth is off centre, so the full moon would have different gravitational effects depending on it's distance to the earth!

    God bless google!
