I am friends with the assistant manager in my local, and apparently Xtra Vision as a whole in Ireland are getting 7.500 consoles.And are allocating units to their stores in amounts of the pre-bookings that store gets.And it will cost €250.
No idea about bundles.

Don't know what your assistant manager is on about! At a training course a few weeks ago we were told they were getting about 700 for all of their stores in Ireland. Our district manager has since told me it was only 500. Our store got 2 pre books in (mine included ) before they told us to stop booking as they were all prebooked.

There is still no price on the system for the console,it just says 0euro...which would be nice,but probably not what its going to cost. Again,at that training course i was told it would be 250euro,whether they will stick to that or not,I am not sure. I can try find out for ye before friday,Ill post it here. I don't think there will be bundle offers before Christmas anyway.

FYI,if you go into a store and the guy doesn't know about bundles,or the price of the Wii etc,not his fault. They tell you ****e all in that place,the only time you find out is when you are embarrassed when a customer asks you something you don't know because you weren't told!

yea, didn't mean to infer that! sorry if did. Knew a few lads who worked in xvisions before. Same auld story. Handy job tho!

Nah,its cool. Handy job...mmmm,it seems like it! lol But I'm fed up at this stage,but I need to pay and rent and pay off college fees. I swear I nearly punched some women for bullsh***ing on about what the director of consumer affairs would have to say about her not getting a receipt. (the receipt didn't print out because a new member of staff didn't do it right) Of course I offer to sort it out but she keeps going on for 15 minutes,I was so close to hitting her. Some nutcases out there.

Sorry about that rant! lol

anywho...Wii coming in Friday! yay! I'm trying to find out what exactly we are getting in. I don't even know if we will be getting games in right away,and I want to buy some!

Actually, it's 2 shipments of 300 units per shipment allocated to Xtra-vision.

Ah thats probably it...I was pretty much right between 500 and 700-600

Price wise,Ill see if I can find out for you tomorrow. I know I was told 250,but since other places are pricing it at 260 and 270,I am not sure it will stick at 250.

Xtra Vision are never reliable for prices.Some things you can get a great deal on, and others you'll just get ripped off completely.I would make a guess that it will be slightly higher than €250.

So I don't know.I'm just going to go along with what my friend told me for now.

the district manager told me,and there is no way in hell they have 6000...that much I am sure of. It is well under a 1000.

asked the manager about the price today but she wasn't talking to the district manager,Ill try tomorrow.

Rofl. That couldn't be more wrong.

The only new news I have is that it's staying at €249.99, we aren't forcing any bundles and you must collect your console on the weekend of launch or it will be sold.

All of that is subject to change, you know how these things are.

I dunno about full of crap, usually funkyflea is reliable for all things Xtra-vision, plus I doubt Xtra-vision would get 5,000+ consoles.

And on the note of the guy I know being wrong, it's probable but I'm willing to hope he is right because if he isn't there is going to be some amount of disappointed people.

Yeah, looks like Wii games are going to be the same price as Gamecube games in general. They all seem to be €55 or €60. Even a couple of €65 ones about. I'd say you'll have to give up on getting a Wii and Zelda for €300 1huge1.

Certain. AFAIK it's 600 units up-front with potential to get another 150 or so before Christmas. You're looking at about 3 per store; 300 per district is about 25 per store which just did not happen.

Your friend forgot to not carry the zero .

ye I'm sure,our store is one of the biggest in the district and we only got 2 prebooks in. He also mentioned it was for the whole of Ireland.

Good stuff.I suppose it doesn't really matter.We will look back on this later next year and think we were all so stupid to have broken our necks getting it on launch rather than waiting a little while to get it with ease.

Not to mention racking up the posts in a thread on boards to over 300.....sad people we all are.:rolleyes:

Main thing is that for most of us this Christmas is going to be full of Wii!

my store is the most profitable in our district and we've got a lot more then 2 prebooks, and we're guarinteed to deliver to the prebooks, surplus is unlikely, but we might get 2 or 3 extra....

ye,we have had loads of people asking for them the last few days. I don't know what the story was,but I don't think the advertising had started and the gift guides hadn't gone out yet,we didn't get many questions about it. Now we are getting loads but of course we can't book anymore.

I just keep walking in there everyday annoying my friend about it.
I'm just wondering is there anyone else who knows if all the Xtra Visions will get the consoles on the day.My friend reckons most likely but it's possible there could be a slight delay as there was with the 360.

I want to know that as well because I want mine on Friday! The manager isn't getting back to me,probably too busy. But I am working tomorrow and the district manager usually calls about stuff,so Ill find out as much as I can if he calls.

I was in my local and my friend gave me the phone when he called the district manager.There are in fact 5,000 pre-orders.And the company is getting 6,500.
And anyone who pre-ordered will get their console on the day!!!
I spoke to him myself so I now have no questions and I am sure of what I just said.:)

If it's a big branch possibly.He told me there would be two shipments.
The first one definitely covering ALL pre-bookings for the day!
Once I heard that I hit cloud 9 so the rest was all blurry!
But he said all the loose units would mostly go to the bigger branches and maybe 1 or 2 to the smaller ones.

omg!got same news today!
went into xtra-vision dundalk,where i preorderd,was told ALL preorders would be filled ON THE DAY.They said they are only getting enough to cover thieir preofers

What qualifies as a big branch? My local is a pretty large building in comparison to other xtravisions I've been in (ie. floor space wise, it's as big as they get), though it is in the Dublin suburbs....

Sorry for all the questions. Just as eager to get a Wii as everyone else here I guess.

No... I went to get a pre-order in late September in game and they said they weren't taking them yet, call back in a few weeks. I called back in a few weeks and they stopped taking them. Gah!

apparently thw wii's are totally booked out all over the country so if you think your gettin one on the day by 'queing' your in for a diappointment. i found a nice secret world of wonder that might be gettin them in friday so fingers crossed and early night thursday! it all feels like an infiltration mission or somethin! We'll settle this tomorrow when I talk to my DM. Either the DM you were onto is an idiot,or they got a load of extra orders all of a sudden. At a training course I was told 800,and then later my DM said only 600. It just seems way too high,we never get that amount of stock,not with the xbox360 or PSP. There are about 205 stores in Ireland,including the North,if you were to split it evenly thats 31 consoles per store. Now the smaller stores probably get bugger all,the big stores would get more pre books. We got 2 in,before we were told they were gone. That was within a few days,before advertising had started...I don't see that many being sold by Xtra Vision within a few days-before adverstising on tv began. Apart from gamers,not a lot of people would have known about it.

What district is this is by the way? Just curious.
