What game looks the best aside from the obvious Twilight Princess?

And are the other choices any good?

Rayman or Super Monkey Ball methinks. Not much into NFL so Madden wouldn't figure for me.

Need for Speed Carbon all the day! Also, Total Rampage is on www.cdwow.ie for 23Euro in the Wii section, well worth picking up.

I have to say call of duty 3, although the main one i'll be picking up will be Wii Play, it'll be good to see how several different applications of the Wii controls contrast with each other, Super Monkey Ball and Rayman are in the launch day shopping basket too.

I was going to get COD3, then the reviews I read said the single player was a bit of let down, but the multiplayer was great. Pity the multiplayer was taken out of the Wii version.

As it stands though I can only afford the Wii and Zelda.

It's not a typical Rayman, it's mini-games with funky evil rabbits, just under the Rayman name.

Rayman for me. It consists of about 85 separate mini games.
Look on Gamespot, IGN or YouTube for gameplay movies. Looks hilarious.... :)

Yeah I'm thinking Rayman too. Seen some gameplay movies (from people rather than reviews) and it looks fun.

Damn. I thought Trauma centre was a launch title here as well since it is out in the US.
I had been planning to get Red steel but change my mind due to the amount of bad reviews.
So I was going to get Trauma centre instead. Might get call of duty but wouldn't like to miss the multi player.

does any1 know if the new zelda for the gc ( the jap version) is in english as well?

Trauma Centre isn't a launch title here?? ah man, i was looking at that as my second one. If the multiplay was in COD3 i'd definitely have gotten that.

Wii Sports comes with the Wii, Wii Play is available separately with a Wiimote.

My original plan was Excite Truck Super Monkey Ball and Red Steel but that has since been ruined with Excite Truck not being a launch title here and Red Steel getting awful reviews.

Super Monkey Ball is my only definate one at the moment, contenders for the second spot are COD3 and Rayman... will have to investigate more.

Hold on a minute. Rayman is all minigames? And there I was ignoring it like a fool...

I voted Monkey Ball. Seems like a natural use of the Wiimote and I've always been a huge fan of the series, fine list of minigames too and I think party games are where the Wii will excel.

I'm not a fan of Zelda at all, so Wii Sports and Monkeyball were my top two, maybe Rayman aswell then, I'll have to go do some reading....

You have to get Zelda. It's what the Wii is for now.

Super Monkey ball, zelda doesn't look any good imo.

I never knew rayman was minigames, bonus! I was going to get rampage, as I had it on the commodore, but the reviews were poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭tvnutz

I have Zelda ordered even though I have never played a zelda game, but the reviews are great and everyone says it is great so Ill give it ago.

aside from that I have already ordered Wii Play and CoD3.

I also wanted to get Excite Truck but that has been put back till march (which is when my birthday is...so ill get it then :D). I want a racing game sooner rather than later so I might get Need for Speed carbon as well.

anyone know how sports games will work on the wii? like a soccer game,I havn't seen any videos or anything but how would you control them? sports games like that wouldn't seem to fit the wii controls...any idea?

I'm a little annoyed that 2 games that I really wanted for launch aren't out for the European launch... Trauma Center and Elebits. Apart from Zelda, there's not a huge amount else that I want. Might grab Rayman at some stage though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 499 ✭✭Gizzle

Due to my current legal status prohibiting me from handling a katana and wakizashi simultaneously ever again, I'll have to go with Red Steel.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,285 ✭✭✭Smellyirishman

    Elebits.

Why have I not heard about this until now? It looks like fun. Q1 release in Europe?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,450 ✭✭✭dimerocks

I am well pissed about Trauma Centre but was made slightly happier today when i saw the screens and read about No More Hero's, now that looks like a game! Think i'll go ith Wii Play for the extra Wiimote and then Red Steel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,738 ✭✭✭djkeogh

I'm not sure what to pick up. Definitely get Wii Play for the extra controller. I pre-ordered Red Steel way back so that's already paid for leaving me with money for one more game. I wouldn't mind giving COD3 a bash.

I'm pretty sure I won't be getting Zelda on the day - just not my thing (although Mario and Metroid are) which is a pity as it's probably the best game for the wii right now.

It'll probably be two of the following: rayman, redsteel and wii play depending on whats available on the day.

I'm very tempted by monkey ball though.

/off to check monkey ball reviews

I've heard unconfirmed reports that a shop or shops are selling CoDIII for the Wii right now, a friend of a friend picked his up today. Anyone else hear anything like this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,881 ✭✭✭Kurtosis

It's definitely for sale in Gamestop, and has been since at least last Saturday.
