Everyone seems to be doing one of these lately so I thought I might as well jump on the bandwagon.

I started off with a free tenner with vc and in two sessions I'm up to 50.

(played .01/.02 jumped into a mtt with the profits, cashed, bought into .05/.1 today, doubled aces first hand)

I was gonna put 1k on stars and have a go at .5/1 and see how that goes, but i thought turning a free tenner into a roll for 10/20 would have a much better sense of achievment!

Would I learn anything grinding up the stakes? Or is playing .02/.04 muppets just gonna hurt my poker game? Will it give me some extra discipline that in the long term make up for the loss of not playing at a higher level? I'm making money live, so the short term loss isn't hugely significent if it will give me some long term benifits.

Basically, should I stick with my original idea, or should I try and do a $10 into $20k challange?

you will go broke if you continue moving up so quickly.

with proper bankroll management, this is possible for anyone who has the time to put in and knows what they are at.

If I'm gonna do a serious attempt at it I'm gonna stick to levels I've 20/30 buy-ins for.

then you are in for the long haul, but of course its doable.

I'm not really asking is it doable, I'm asking will I learn enough from it to offset the amount I lose out by not playing at a higher level?

I'm guessing if i'm a winning player, I would make a multiple at .5/1+ that I would make at the lower levels, but if i gain a load of discipline and what not (I'm guessing this is why everyone else is doing it) it would probably be worth it.

i went broke a few weeks back and party gave me a 15$ bonus plus i had 25 in my neteller account and i decided like you to try and get it up to well no quite 10/20 but 1/2 and was also wondering what playing against players from .2/.4 microstake would do for my game ok i like the idea of disipline as that is by far my biggest leak and i have a few.

ps after 2 days i am shocked at how disiplined some of the players are some of them are better than the .25/.50 players

ps the 2+2 microstakes forum is pretty good for hand analysis
