    Apart from canon is there anywere in dublin that will clean underneath the focus screen on a 1d mII, was messing around with a slipt focus screen but a lot of dirt has got onto to the section underneath the screen? I gave it a rub with a pec pad but made it worse don't want to mess around with it too much, prefer to have professionally cleaned.

    DML up by Portobello, although I'm not sure if they do Canon.
    Do Canon Ireland do sensor cleans and actual maintenance? Or is that only done Stateside and uk?

    I can only imagine it's sent to the UK. I dont think theres any camera service centre over here.

    I start messing about with the camera myself late last night with a load of drink inside me :rolleyes: , made it worse I'll have to replace the focus screen as its marked, just bought a new one from speedgraphic.co.uk should have it next week, but I'll try ISS on monday to see if they can clean the underneath the focus screen as I'm reluctant to send to canon as it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get the camera back. Failing that I'll try DML, anyway thanks for the replies.

    What Canon centre would you send it to if you were going to send it? Is it in the UK or the States?
    The address would be handy for future reference.
    Cheers.

    Just to let you now that I left my camera in with ISS and they cleaned the prism best they could and also gave the ccd a clean for 95euro + vat, its better than sending it to canon for a few weeks. I got the new screen from speedgraphic yesterday so I'll stick that into the camera tonight so all in all happy with the service from ISS, 3 day turn around.

    BAH thats what they told me about my camera when I sent it to them at 3 days old. Thing was it came back from ISS with more crap and dirt in it than when I sent it up there. In the end, it turned out that the inside/back of the AF screen was damaged... some kind of corosion. I had to replace it myself (ssshhhh dont tell canon)... ISS didnt spot it though. Just made a half arse attempt at cleaning the sensor and mirror and sent it back full of fibres.

    At least Canon were paying.. but I did have to pay for the €20 courier charge up and down ggrrrrr

    ISS != nice
