    From the AnPost tracking website:
    ====================================
    DELIVERED FROM 29 November 06

    Item History

    Activity
    Location
    Date

    DELIVERED FROM WHITEHALL D.S.U. DUBLIN 9 29 November 06
SENT OUT FOR DELIVERY KILBARRACK DUBLIN 5 28 November 06
ITEM ACCEPTED PORTLAOISE MAIL CENTRE PORTLAOISE CO. LAOISE 25 November 06
ARRIVED PORTLAOISE OVR CO. LAOIS 24 November 06

    ====================================

    One problem...it wasn't delievered.

So I rang their helpdesk. They tell me that there was an attempted delivery. There was no 'failed delivery' stub in my letterbox though. They tell me that the package is waiting in Whitehall sorting centre for collection & to just bring id with me when collecting it.

So, I go out to Whitehall and they tell me that don't have it. They check the tracking number on their system and it says that they should have it. So...somewhere between Kilbarrack and Whitehall, the package went missing and the delivery driver marked it as delivered.

I've given them until tomorrow to talk to the driver and find the package or I'm reporting them to the guards for mail theft & I'm pressing charges.

I wonder if the driver will miracously find the package in the back of his van tomorrow morning?

Methinks the Gardai may want to do some close ballistics inspection on that if you report it as mail theft. So long as it's below one joule though...

I just contacted the sorting office in tullamore (mailing address is offaly) and my Glock, extra clip and holster were sent out with the delivery man this morning. now im dying because im in dublin and its in my local post office in offaly waiting for me and im in work at 2 so wont be able to get it before late tonight at the earliest.

Well they still couldn't locate the parcel. Apparantely they hired in contractors to help with the christmas workload & they are all useless.

So I threatened to press charges against the driver and suddenly I got a manager on the phone. He promised me a complete search of all the postal offices visted by the 3 delivery guys that handled the package. I was happy enough with that and hung up.

I decided to do some shopping while waiting for them to get back to me, and when I opened the front door, there was the parcel...lying on the ground where anyone could take it! There was no address or labeling of any kind. The only markings was a number and a message saying customs was inspecting the firearms. Crazy or what?

So I let An Post continue their search (as punishment for their incompetence). I told them 3 hours later, after they rang back saying they still couldnt find it. They seem shocked when I explained how I found it, but all I got was a "Don't blame us, blame the contracted delivery guy" speech. They had the cheek to suggest that I file a complaint with HongKong post since it was a package from them!!!

I was waiting for a parcel from Holland for 4 months. Only after complaining and th elikes was it delivered.

Still waiting on a parcel from the UK with a few pouches of ASCUK. Its been more then a month now.

****. Instead of getting contractors, they should just get more staff. Or at least sort there contractors out.

My new toy would be great...if Wolfarmouries wasn't taking so long to deliver the voltage convertor so I could use the japaneese 110v charger that came with the G18c.

It was fun figuring out where the battery went, since all the documentation was in Japaneese. Shame there was no charge in it at all.

Nice looking gun up close. Heavy, but not too heavy, and good detail. Safety is a bit hard to use (its soo small), but it's not a big deal. Just pray it doesn't accidentely fire while I have it tucked into the front waistband of my jeans. That would hurt.

    *cough* BFSL *cough* ???

Importing is fine. You just need to know WHERE to import from. There are places to avoid. There are places that so far have a 100% success rate.

Even buying from Ireland, I still have to get the goods posted. The problem is not with the seller, but with the postal services.

I put an order in for a CA M15A4 SPC, two extra 300rd mags (it comes with one 300rd mag) and a second glock 17 to keep my other one company. also ordered a second mag for the second glock. its about 520 for the lot including delivery (about a week and a half) if i dont get stung for tax. Now if i spend an extra 100, i can get the M15 and the glock in ireland within a week with no fear of added tax on top but wont get the extra mags included but could get them cheap from eHobby. I can also get a famas or two in for 380 a piece with 1 low, 2 hi cap mags and sling and batt nd charger.

Im not sure what to do.

Im not even 2 go into detail about the calculations and pondering and general scheming thats been going through my head over the last month  needless to say ive changed my mind quite a bit thanks to all these new china clones coming out and switching names every 10 minutes  . I think ive settled on just getting a mp5sd6 as a secondary weapon to my shoty and to forget about having a dmr/sniper rifle until more is known about the new m14 and m16a3 clones just released.

O ya spitfire looks like ya beat me 2 the dual wielding madness ;)

I have the TM MP5 SD6. Great weapon, very good as a sniper backup, as you can take the supressor off and shorten the stock and you'll be very surprised how small it is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,518 ✭✭✭[--SC(+)PE--]

Ill be having the new JG clone of that so when gunner updates his site.
Lol ive already ordered a box of 8 midcaps for it so i have to get it now  . What other guns ya got John?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Spitfire666

i think i'll buy the two guns here and see if i can bargin for some free mags if i get both at the same time. it'll mean having the gear quicker and in time for the xmas shoot at pred next week.

eh? Famas with a low cap, high cap, batt and charger cost me €260. including postage. someone is ripping you off!

sorry, i ment 280, but it doesnt matter, dont think i'll get one. i loved using it at pred last sat, accurate and an insane rate of fire but its very plasticy looking. would be a good back up as its bullet proof also (by no means literaly).

yeah in the long term i plan on using it as my backup. Still though, apart from the rather nasty plastic finish, its so much fun to fire.

Actually, do you happen to know what guns they have as rentals up at Predator? I have a friend who's interested in going up at some point. Happens to be gunless at the moment though

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Spitfire666

they have AK47s m4's and mps5's with the tac lite grip and solid stock.
Im going up again next sat.

    wow nice selection :)

I plan on heading up sometime very soon. About to put in an ehobby order. once i get that, hopefully by this day next week, i'll be set. Getting a Famas Rail, Red dot scope, tactical balaclava, SAS tactical assault vest, Guarder glasses and another high cap mag. Most of its pretty necessary. I'd have a difficult time playing without.

but yeah, once i have that, I'd deff be interested in one of those seats in your car ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Spitfire666

i went with a leg holster and a sling on the famas i borrowed and a glock. had 2 mags for the glock and 1 hi cap for the famas. brought my own boots and glasses and borrowed a set of camos. no vest or any extras and had a great time. no real need for all that gear for a first shoot.

Speaking of An Post I got the tracking number for my 3 AK74's from Gunners. They've been sitting in customs since the 30th of November so hopefully they'll get released this week. Fung (the guy who owns Gunners) told me they fire about 310-320 fps out of the box. According to other reviews the grouping starts to fall off at about 100 feet. First thing I'll pick up is probably some 6.04 mm tight barrels for them. I'll get a review up of them when they arrive.

    I have the following -

Marui MP5 SD6 with 3 point sling, Crab mount and Aimpoint Red Dot.
ICS M4 with M203 underneath. I have both a solid stock and crane stock for this depending on what mood I'm in. Its got a M110 spring and metal bushings installed.
    KJW M9 Beretta (full Metal).
Classic Army G3 SG1 SAR Taktic II Rifle.
    Marui Desert Eagle
and I'm looking to order the following in the new year, G&P SR25 and H&K SL8, along with a P226 and P8(USP) both full metal. Was going to order now, but there is no point due to Christmas and slow postage :-)

your getting an sr 25  id kill for that gun ;)
Thats a deadly collection ya have their

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 167 ✭✭johnser

Its starting to get there all right. My missus is going mad as its starting to take up a lot of space. Yes the SR25 is the one I'm waiting for. Just waiting for stock to arrive of them, as they're quite hard to get and expensive.

I'll get the camera out and take some pictures. I'm just waiting on a order from Ehobby to arrive of a few misc bits for them.
