N80 won't install Jar files?

I have an N80 and I've now tried to install quite a few games, which are Jar files.

I transfer from PC to phone with the useless PC Suite, and when I go through the install process on the handset, it progresses up to near the end, then gives me an error message "Unable to install".

Is there something I'm not doing right, or is just a case that Jar files won't install on a Symbian phone?

have you changed the security settings to allow unsigned programs to install?

Yes, have done that. I realise that some of these games were probably designed for phones with a smaller screen, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

No, even if they don't run correctly, they would still install. I have a similar problem on my N70 - I cannot install any .jar or .sis files without getting 'Security Error - Unable to Install' or something along those lines. Its an unbranded phone and all permissions are fine - it boggles the mind, no explanation, and rather annoying.

Are you transferring to the card in the phone or the phone itself?
I think there is an issue with some memory cards not installing files correctly but they install ok from the phone memory, but as far as I know Nokia sorted it with a new firmware version

Try installing from phone memory and see if its still the same

Makes no difference if I transfer to either card or phone memory.
