playing in a live 500 euro sit and go this weekend. 10k starting stack and 20 min blinds starting at 25/50. wat shoud be my move here, sit tight when blinds are small or try to mix it up and play a lot of hands. i get the feeling the the table will be loose anyway so was gonna stick to premium hands and suited connectors if i got in cheaply.

Is it winner takes all for a ticket to something or is there a staggered cash payout? If so, what is the breakdown of pay.

it is just cash payout, 2.5k 1.5k and 1k.
    blind structure
    25/50
    50/100
    100/200
    200/400
    300/600
    400/800
    500/1000
    1000/2000
    1500/3000
    2000/4000
    3000/6000

me and another guy gonna go 25 % of each other so if one of us get in money we get at least half our money back

I would be playing tight for the first level only here.

Then I would go to war.
Its worth taking a coin flip or two in order to get chips with a 50% payout to the winner imo.

Its a bit strange that the organisers are skipping a few levels, I understand its 10k starting stack but still.

I'd actually disagree with Ste here, I would try and see a lot of pots early on if limpers are being allowed.
As long as you are prepared and able to lay down hands this would be the best strategy imo, as if you get a big stack early on you can try and dominate the table after that.

a general rule of thumb applicable to all games is to play the opposite to the majority of the rest of the table, if its a loose fest then tighten up a bit and be aggressive make them pay for cards. if its very tight, then push your chips around and put them under pressure especially around bubble time.

As he said it depends on the rest of the people, but i'd be inclined try and see as many cheap flops as possible until you hit big. Then switch to more TAG for later levels.

thanks for the advice, just back from the casino tonight and won 80 % of my buy in for tonights game. some of players where playing and standard is very poor(dont know why some of them are paying 500 euro to play). feeling very confident but we only have 7/10 players so far, just hope we get at least one more for it to go ahead.
by the way shoutman there is no levels skipped as this is the structure they use for all the tournaments( bad i know)
thanks for advice anyway all, i will let you know how i get on!

That is a question I find myself asking a lot.

After 60 mins blinds will be 200/400 so you cant really afford to sit back too much. I'd be trying to see a few cheap flops with (un)suited connectors and any small pair 22-99, raising with big pairs and big aces and mucking the rest.
I wouldnt go out of my way to steal the blinds until the 100/200 level

The jump from 500/1000 to 1000/2000 is massive so you'll need a lot of chips to be able to play proper poker and bully the shorter stacks trying to hang on. I'd be taking a lot of risks to accumulate chips early on and wouldnt shy away from any 50/50 that comes your way.
