Dell Optiplex GX1 Crashes!!

    Hi,
We have an old Dell Optiplex GX1 running Windows ME that the kids use for games. It was quietly reliable until 2 weeks ago when it crashed. An old Emergency boot disk got it up and running again. i ran check disk - it told me it fixed some problems, I ran registry mechanic - no errors found. I restarted it - it restarted fine. I shut it down and started from cold - all went well. I shut it down happy with my efforts - it hasn't started since. When it's turned on the light on the front comes on and that's it. An emergency boot disk is no good cos it doesn't even get to the disk drive, the same with the cd drive. It doesn't crunch or grind or even groan - just nothing.
Is there anything I can do?
It doesn't have a modem so updates were never an issue.
We bought it a few years ago when the company one of us worked for were selling off old machines so Dell won't give technical advice because we didn't buy it directly from them (and it's old!).
The children used it for very basic educational games, they're only little so I don't think it was under too much pressure with graphics or anything.
Any thoughts, ideas, solutions - I'd be delighted to hear them and to try them.
    Thanks,
    J.

No text up on the screen at all? Try reseating the RAM.
