I'm probably going to be picking up an FAL next year. A friend of mine really wants one. He fired the real deal when he was in the military.

tough decisions their they both look class. Im in the a worse boat alltogether i cant decide weathar to get a AGM M14 or a TM M16 to make into a DM rifle
My main concerns about the m16 are 1. barrel wobble and 2.The fact that the carry handle isnt removable and i wanna put my bigass scope on the thing without it being to high up

Plus not to mention you wont wanna look like the 70% of other people there with armalites ;) I've heard bad things about the TM armalite range of weapons. Supposedly its one section of guns that Classic Army actually do better. That's just something i heard, so dont quote me on it!

The type 89/FAL choice is just too damn hard. I prefer the look of the FAL. (slightly) more. Very slightly. And as Dave pointed out, it fires at 320 out of the box! which i wouldnt say no to ;)

the 89 however is made by Marui and is meant to be top notch both inside and out. The FAL looks very pretty, i just hope to god it shoots pretty too. I have yet to read a test firing review on it.

Ya i orginaly wanted my primary weapon to be kinda unique which being an armalite would be pretty hard. But im realy tempted by an m16 now Im thinkin extended 590mm psg barrel with a silencer and that big scope i have on my vsr coupled with an odgreen stock and some gun wrap to cover the most of the front of the weapon and sure most people use m4's anyway ;)

I've heard the same thing about TM Armalite's, not that I'd buy one. The only one I touch is the M4 but there's so many other rifles before that.

I'm really wanting the FNC but the only one at the moment is made by Star, too expensive and is a POS I hear :(

The T89 also has a burst function and can use STANAG type mags, which is very handy if your teamates use armalites or a gun collector (less money spent on mags).

VFC are coming out with an FNC sometime next year.

I know id much rather get a G&P M16a3 or somesuch but marui's is the only one in my price range [that and the m14 clone of course]
Ive been looking at reviews and scouring the net for infos about it and it might well be my rifle for christmas :)
