This is a question Jesus put to his Disciples (or maybe it was just to Peter). And so I would be interested to hear how you Christians out there would respond.:)

this is rhetorical given that christians follow living Christs life because they believe he was the Christ.

Judging by the username* and the line of questioning T-111111 and/or his minions may well be back. You Christians watch out ya'll ya hear. :) Cue another few pages of "how do you know you're right, you deluded Christians you".

*Gospel of Barnabus, a spurious 15th century Spanish "Gospel" purporting to back the Islamic view of the non deity of Jesus. Interesting fit with the OP's question an' all.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    People,

I'm new to all this. I'm not part of any 'minions' group. I just wanted to start a discussion. I am always surprised at how my fellow Christians tend to use catch-phrases about Christ and maybe not always knowing the reality that these titles of Our Lord Jesus Christ actually seek to express. I was trying to be thought provoking not antagonistic. The original message holds a question which Jesus puts to his disciples. It's a question he puts to each of us also. Don't you think it a little strange that quite a number of Jesus' followers in today's world give him the title 'Lord' but in actual fact they have reduced him to all intents and purposes to a mere man who is a role model for us.

As for the name Barnabas. My birthday falls on the feast of St. Barnabas - June 11th - hence Barnabas!:)

He is Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One of God. He is the Son of God, part of the Holy Trinity. He is completely God and completely Man.

    I belong to Him.

Let that mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped at. He emptied himself, taking the form of a servant -being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death - death on a Cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth. And every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2.11ff)

Praise be the name of Jesus.
By no other name can we be saved.
He is the Christ the Holy one of God. He who became man for us, died for us and was raised up to the right hand of our Heavenly Father where he now reigns in Glory.
Opening his arms on the Cross he embraces all of humanity and seeks to gather them within the eternal embrace of Divine Love.
We are his people - the sheep of his flock.

As our Mediator he prays for us.
As our Head he prays in us and with us.
As our God he is prayed to by us.

    Just some food for thought!:)

Welcome Barnabas, my apologies for your rocky debut. We recently had to do a little housecleaning on a select group. Please enjoy yourself here:)
