Colour coded perhaps? Seriously there is no such phrase in common use. Maybe it has a password on it (BIOS password) or maybe an anti theft code (writeen on UV Pen) on it.

I would take it to mean this. A Windows/OS password would be irrelevant. Can you direct us to the ad. ?(If it exists.) Otherwise, and more likely, if it's 'a guy in the pub' - steer clear.

There is no ad, just re-selling locally, supposedly in very good cond. Whats a UV pen tho??? Maybe there is a anti-theft code of some sort?!

Coded usually means some sort of hardware/software lock on the HDD and/or BIOS, either with PIN, password, chip-card etc Some can be easily unlocked, others can't.

If the person selling it cannot unlock it then don't buy it - It sounds like it's stolen or something.

Ya I was thinkin that myself. Altho I'm almost certain the guy who is selling it works for an IT company. Its possible that the laptop was excess (possible). I'll have to get my mate to look into that.

And see it rebooted. Just to make sure there are no BIOS passwords or anything.
