    So do the imacs have TV cards - i cant see on the apple website, and if not can one be added so that cable could be plugged into the beautiful 20" display?

    Your best bet is to visit www.elgato.com and look at their eyetv product. You can input from an aerial or a cable source or even a DVD player and capture the output on your iMac. The result is your Mac behaving as a TV receiver.
