    Hi,

I am looking for a tiler and have gotten a couple in to quote. The best quote I have so far is:-

    KITCHEN/DINING 16ft x 11ft €450
    UTILITY 5ft x 5ft €150
    BATHROOM 5 x 6ft €175
    ENSUITE (1) 5 x 6ft €175
    ENSUITE (2) 5 x 6ft €175
    DOWNSTAIRS WC 5 x 6ft €175

    TOTAL €1,300

I thought it would be cheaper...or am I just dreaming???

    Any advice greatfully appreciated.

Thats about 35sqYd right?. That would make the cost about €37/sqYd. I think the going rate is anywhere between €20-€30/sqYd but you have a lot of small spaces there which would require more cutting than doing one room of 35sqYd.

If you are not happy with the quote, see if you can get some more. If all the quotes are coming in at about that price then it is probably a fair price for the work involved.

Yeah didn't think of it that way. I was just working out the overall area.

Might suss out a couple more and weigh it up after that.

    Thanks for replying.

    Cheers:)

Always get more than one quote
    Always ask for references*
Always ask tiler when they can start the work
Always ask for an estimated job completion date

*bear in mind these references could come from friends and family of the tiler ;)

Sounds reasonable enough. As a previous poster said, the tighter spaces are harder to do due to the cutting etc..

    Sound advice also from r3nu4l
