Just got an email earlier from dabs.com stating that they now have a site dedicated to the Irish market. Dont know how their euro prices will stand up against other online stores or if there will be a problem with VAT as mentioned in another thread.

Glad to see they've finally set up an Irish outlet. I must check it out later. Thanks to the OP for noticing.

Very nice! I like Dabs and they are MUCH less PITA then Komplett when it comes to returning merchandise.

I've been quite loyal to Komplett for the last few years but I can see myself buying my stuff from dabs now. Their old flat £20 sterling delivery rate to Ireland used to really put me off. Price war anyone? ;)

But it would be still worth checking out if you order from there UK site and pay in pounds, would it be cheaper.

A lot like ordering from www.play.com its cheaper to order in pounds then in euros.

Unfortunately you can't do that anymore. You have to order in Euro's.

Cool nice to have more choice though the site seems offline at the moment (for me at least).

It is good value, theres alot more detail on komplett though. Dont forget to try pixmania.com aswell they can have a few good deals too.

    Dabs is down now though!!

    dOh!
I guess they have wised up to what's going on.

They got an awful lot of stick about that. Shortly afterwards they changed their euro prices to match the sterling prices when converted, give or take 50 cents to get their nice not-quite-round x.99 prices.

I always buy from them. Shipping is reasonable and delivery is swift. I only experienced one no-show by a courier and that was for a return.

    Very good experience overall.

Great news - apart form the fact that Dab's customer support is terrible. I had huge problems with them and its almost impossible to speak to anyone. Perhaps I was just unlucky.

My experiences with Komplett have been excellent. I'd only stray if there was a really big price difference.

I'm starting to think Komplett is getting a little cocky WRT prices, an nVidia card I bough in April is now approx. €30 more expensive now.

I was looking at a 7900 GTO on overclockers.co.uk, it went from £145 sterling excl. VAT to £199 excl. VAT in two weeks!!

That's a little more then inflation at work there!

i bought a computer from dabs and paid up in full immediately. then the next year i went to buy some christmas presents from them, one of which i was getting because someone else wanted to give it as a present. they emailed me asking me to confirm my name and address, which i did. then they never contacted me again. my order was "pending" for weeks. emails went unanswered

i didn't want to order them somewhere else in case i ended up with two of everything and several hundred euro less than i'd like. christmas came and went. they cancelled the order a week later. i then ordered the stuff from komplett and had it a few days later. i emailed dabs telling their staff to shove their website up their respective holes and never went back

My experience also. They could/would not answer a basic question concerning the spec of a product. I was looking to spend €7000.

Hmmm....the entire "Electronics" section appears to have vanished when compared to the UK site.

    " Dabs.com "Dabs.ie

    Zilch."

    :(
