Im building a pc at the moment, the board is a msi kn72 delta, a gig of ram, 400w psu and an 80 gig hdd i had laying around. My question though is about what card to go for? I went into maplins to see what was about, and met their onsite graphics card genius, who in fairness knew his stuff. Im looking at the geforce card, is the 6xxx range the minimum i should be looking at, or is that dead and buried, and i should go for the 7xxx range? Im aware there is 8XXX now available, but trying to keep prices reasonable enough.
So suggestions please? The main reason im buying the card is I cant play my new "need for speed carbon" game, just defaults back to desktop...on my laptop! Hence the newly built pc.

    Thanks
    Phill

ps had laptops for years for work, so didnt bother with pcs. lastime i bought a graphics card i believe it was a voodoo 3 2000 pci :)

Socket A board, so AGP as far as I remember. Overclockers.co.uk list a 7800GS for about 210 euro or so. What processor is it though?
