How long does it usually take Sky to come and install?

'Cos I'm thinking about getting Sky+ before the week is out and I'm wondering if they'd have it installed before Christmas? I assume they would.

How long does it usually take them?

    Any help appreciated.

Ring them and they will give you an install date over the phone. Whether they honour that date is another question though.

As Aquos said really. I'd say, all going well, it'll take perhaps 2 or 3 weeks. But that is all things going well.

Are you upgrading, or a new customer? An upgrading customer might be seen as a handier job and done sooner

    New customer.:(

Anyway, I ordered online a few minutes ago and the soonest install date you could pick was December 10th. Not bad, I suppose. Like the first guy said, though, whether they install on time is another matter.

Thanks for the replies anyway, fellas.

If you went to a local installer they might come out in a couple of days.

I did the introduce a friend to Sky deal and got an install date the same week. She said she would send me a cheque - how much is it?

Was gonna make a new thread but will post here:

I ordered a sub only from Sky on the 12th and sent back the direct debit forms on the 16th. Haven't heard anything from them since. Is this unusual, or does it normally take a few weeks. The feckers weren't long about charging my credit card for the 1st month, surely that covers the 1st month following activation and not from the day I rang?

I'd have expected you'd have the viewing card by now. And usually, you're not charged subscription until viewing card is activated.

I guess you'll need to get on the blower to them again, see what the story is.

I thought I better follow up on this in case anyone else might be wondering about their install times. They're coming out to install this Thursday. That's the 7th. I ordered it online on the 27th November. Only took 10 days, which is not bad, I suppose. It's even better considering I ticked the 10th as my preferred install date when I was ordering.

Only problem is, now I have to take the morning off work to let them in.

Never saw your reply. Rang them on Dec 1st and they said there was some problem and it was now rectified. Was worried they copped I was out of the service area. Phew!

    I wouldn't worry.
