    Hi,

recently got upper and lower braces off 6 months ago, had them on for a year and a half and was happy with the results! since I started using my retainer having got them off my teeth have started to discolour. it is a gum shield style retainer and I'm wondering whether the discolouring is due to wearing this at night? would earing the retainer lock stale saliva between the teeth and the retainer and therefore cause this? I'll ring my ortho during the week but i thought i would check here first and see what ye think!

up until i started using this my teeth were always naturally very white so im a little worried, really dont want them to start turning into cavaties:(

    Thanks

the white material used to bond the braces to your teeth is diffucult to remove completly....maybe some remains on your teeth and this is what is discolouring....discuss it with your orthodontist.
