    HT

Its a very loose and scrappy game, hard to defend against a team willing to strike at any time from any where in any way.

Wallace certainly lacks the contrl and authority of ROG, but this i s to be totally expected , the ROG we know has spent years builiding to this.
What Wallace does do, as does Boss, is create a whole new style of game for Ireland. Wallace is excellent on the break and rarely kicked from hand.
His goal kicking has been 100% until HT.

So long as we win nwith afew decent tries with no injuries job well done.

grand victory for the lads, can't really argue too much with 61 points at the end of the day

I thought stringer was poor though and he is in genuine danger now of losing his place to Boss who played really well when he came onto the wing

good to see the lads throwing their stuff into the crowd at the end, can not wait for the six nations

recorded it cos was gonna be missing the start. now i want to keep it forever, those scences at the end... tear to my eye.

good confidence booster. wallace had a good game, nice to see boss on. heaslip had a great game. fitzgerald also strong, but a bit scared when he moved to full back.

enjoyed the game tho. not the best rugby i've seen but you're always gonna have a scrappy game when you're playing against a team like Pac.

Emotional to say the least. Though Stringer stood out as the 'worst' Irish player - kept on lashing out blind passes. Wallace played out of his skin but was never under any sort of pressure, so it's hard to know what he'll be like in a WC match when it's down to the wire. Can't ask for much more than man of the match though. Fitzgerald played very well, didn't miss one tackle and made two try saving tackles when in full back, broke the line a few times and came close to scoring. D'arcy broke the line everytime he got the ball, Horgan used his strength to score and Dempsey was a rock in full back until he went off.

Couldn't have asked for a better Autumn series result tbh, dunno what I'm gonna do until the 6 nations!

Thought Heaslip was non existent. Ferris played quite well I thought. As did Boss when he came on.

Fitzgerald is clearly not fully comfortable on the international stage, never quite sure what option to take, still very light though. Still obviously a huge talent.

Thought it was very classy when DOC and ROG went over and gave their jerseys to the wheelchair section.

The thing that stood out for me was that with Wallace and Boss, we have two contrasting styles to RoG/Stringer, which was great to see.

Wallace I though wanted to run things, and maybe it was nerves making him pass first instead of dictating the game, but he kicked well from the ground, and assist for the try was sublime. He also got under the posts himself, and was more comfortable breaking in the 2nd half.

Boss although coming on the wings, showed the skills he brings to field, breaking and running great lines, he backed himself for the line with a kick, and got lucky, but ended up pop passing it from the ground to setup a try.

Fitzgerald was ok, a bit 'rabbit in headlights' but looked more comfortable as things progressed

D'Arcy is a phenominal line breaker and showed it when he came on.

The game had way too many changes and guys out of position to expect the new caps really to impress. Its much easier to step into a settled team and debut than to do it with so much instability around.

At the end of the day all the leaders, Horgo step up!, really did the business. None of the new caps or rookies really imposed themselves at all.

One thing I noticed was after Boss's great break where Best touched down, Stringer was right on the scene also. On the replays I noticed no positive reaction from him by his competitors scintilating break. He is all to aware of the threat now.
But steady Eddie will surely persisit until absolutely necesary?

Wallace man of the match, for his goal kicking and his centre broken play skills and not least influenced by the occasion of being a new cap
.....but he showed no ability to run a game and control what goes on at OH.....But why should he of...he doesnt play there for Ulster and it was his 1st start. This position really is a puzzle to me the way EoS goes about it and his good game today is surely to make it trickier.

Id still say Humphs is necesary for a BIG crunch game in WC??

All the young guys will look way better if dropped in 1 at a time into a normal team as part of normal injury replacement duty. Alls said the tag team / baby sitting arrangement EoS had between new and old worked very very well as the score....by far the biggest PIsls defeat of the tour, shows.

I think its time to to compliment Eddie for once. EoS man of the match!

    61 - 17

Not to mind the 6 nations, Roll on the world cup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    T.Sc.

    Reckon i'd prefer a
GS than a semi-final in the WC.

Are you sure you aren't getting mixed up between Heaslip and Ferris. I thought Heaslip played well and Ferris was totally non existant.

Fitzgerald had a much better second half at full back.

    Re Heaslip

Let dave "the jury is still out on jamie" Irl comment.;)

jamie was mentioned during the Man o match summary, bit OTT though I thought.
He carried well but was not as involved as he would be at Leinster.
As I say above difficult for any new cap to play well with so much upoheaval around.

Yeah thought that too, Heaslip carried well, Ferris didn't stand out at all. Thought Fitzy was okay, but he wasn't overly aware of his surroundings, trying to impress too much, performed better at full-back.

Darce has really refound his form, for me that's the find of the Autumn, he's playing fantasting rugby and his strenght is unbelievable. Speaking of strenght, Girv did well to get up from that tackle eh?

And yep I thought the worst man on the field was Stringer, he needs to cut that moaning out of his game, we needed speed at the breakdown, because the PIs were infringing constantly, and instead of getting the ball out fast Stringer was moaning to the ref like a 4 year old! Boss needs a lot more experience at international level, but judging by his around the field play Stringer will finally have reason to iron out the faults in his game. Competition for places is a great thing..ask Simon Easterby, he played a stormer!

    Midway through the first half....

George Hamilton: "George Hook has a comment to make"

My brother and I: "Ah feck!"
