I suppose many people have had a problem finding ways of holding the phone when they want to be in the picture themselves. Wondering if there is any universal solution. Something like a phone tripod. Personally I've hung it in leather case with the fold over caught in a rolled up car window, also used Velcro strips. These solutions are all a bit it and miss as you can't see the phone's display.

A camera tripod and a generous blob of blutack might do the job, just don't get it into any connector/charger holes.

The reply of "just my view" jogged my memory and realsied that I had a mini-tripod lying around. I did a bit of toying around and came up with a not very elegant solution, but its stable. Unfortunately the only digital camera I have is the phone, so, no pictures of the contraption in action. The tripod is a "Hama" I'd say around €8 euros, and the black is a piece of car tire tubing cut and stitched together
