Can't view PPS files

    I have downloaded the software from microsoft but i'm still getting this message 'This file does not have a programme associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel'. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Is it ppviewer.exe that you downloaded from Microsoft?
    If so try right-clicking on the pps file and choose "Open With...." and then browse to where you have ppviewer.exe on your PC.
    It should open fine then.

    down load the powerpoint viewer from microsoft - don't forget to patch it up to date / or is that just for the full version of powerpoint - to stop you machine being taken complete control of by opening a malicious powererpoint file

    or http://www.openoffice.org as long as the file doesn't have a password, if it does then unless the person who sent it confirms they did treat it as a virus.
