just read in mac world today that if you add parallels desktop you can run windows almost as quick as on a pc.

    www.parallels.com

also i was wondering do you think apple will let us boot windows vista after xmas or will it still be xp.

Dual booting/virtualization kinda sucks IMO. You need a separate copy of Windows installed on a disk image to run in Parallels, i.e you can't use the same copy/partition as Bootcamp which makes using both kinda awkward. Bootcamp is far more reliable and essential IMO and has much better support than Parallels which has alot of bugs and doesn't run everything perfectly. I'm certain in time we will see a much better alternative probably from Apple. But Bootcamp is still only in beta and won't be officially released till Leopard so it'll be interesting to see what extra features Apple adds.

Sad Professor is right that parrallels doesn't runthings perfectly, but it can run xp and Vista fine for doing most things you would need windows for.

I have an accounting package that is windows only and only want xp for running that. I can switch on windows on another screen and flick in and out of it as i need. ITs perfect for what i want and well worth 70 quid in my opinion. If you wanna run windows for games and whatever then you will need bootcamp.
