2 XP OS to choose from?

I did a fresh install of XP (formatting the old partition), but every time I log on I am presented with 2 XP operating systems to choose from during boot up.
Is there any way I can hide this step or skip it?

    Thanks in advance...

Go into msconfig and go to boot.ini and press "check all boot paths"

So basically there are two partitions with XP on both??
Or is it you formatted the partition that originally had Windows on it and re-installed it and this now happens??

when you format a partition rather than the entire drive the mbr stays intact afaik and thinks you have 2 windows installs.

This must be it. I'll check msconfig now and see what happens...

Thats the way it normally goes alright!! I only asked cos I once had an 80GIG split into 2 and both had XP on them, one was pro other was home and evn after the format I couldn't get rid of the Pro one unless I formatted the lot!!

If all you want to do is remove it from your boot up options. Then edit the boot.ini located on your c:\ drive and delete the one you don't want.

Easy way is to go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings, et voila.
