As most of my office post regularly on Boards, I decieded to take the leap and post my first thread. Go easy on me!

Two hands below. Both took place playing 9 handed .5/1 NL.

    Hand 1

I am on the BB ($130). 2 limpers until the player in MP($75) makes it 3. (he has been pretty tight and raising mostly with postion. When he got to showdown he usually had big cards).
Folded to me, I call. Ealry limpers fold. I am holding 5h6h.

    FLOP (8.50)
    5d 6d 2s

In to me. I lead for 7.
    MP raised to 21.
    I push.
MP thinks for a while, types "your behind" and calls.
He show KK and gets no help on turn or river.

The reason I am posting this hand is that for 10 minutes after this the guy went nuts in chat, calling me everything under the sun.
I have a logical reason for this play, but I would like peoples opions before I give it.

    Hand 2
    9 handed .5/1 NL.
I am on SB($220) with 4h5h. Folded to the button($85) who min raises to 2. I call and BB($45) calls too. The BB is a complete muppet. He has been a calling station all night and seems to call down any drawing hand regardless of pot size or the bet into him. The button seesm very tight passive and seems to min raise, and min raise only, when ever he has a hand.

    FLOP (6)
    9h 4d 3h

I lead for 6 and the BB calls. The button min raises. I ?????

Nothing wrong with hand one imo you are OOP and one of the early limpers could limp raise meaning you can't be sure of getting to see a flop for $3 however there is $6.50 in the pot and $2 to you you lead just less than pot he raises you have to be ahead you shove he calls np well done

hand two it always concerns me when flops put me on a flush draw but with effectively a 5 high flush if it gets there however it you are getting 5/1 if you call so I call here and re-evaluate on turn

cue those telling me I haven't a clue

Hand 1: You should have told him the implied odds were too good to fold preflop.

Hand 2: Meh. Sometimes I call. Alot of the time I 3 bet and get it all in on the flop. Depends.

Like hand 1 a lot, there are very few hands you are behind to after the flop.
An over pair is exactly what I would have read him for.
If he has the case 6s or 5s for the trips so be it.
    (Like your play here)

Agree with Scouser on hand 2, however if you hit the flush there is a decent chance someone has a higher one.
The betting patterns of the other players would dictate my moves here.

Hand 1 is fine. He over played his hand not your problem. Hope he reloads and goes on tilt.

Hand 2. This could get you in trouble if you hit your flush. You will not know for sure where you are IMO. I would fold.

Hand one is exactly why there are implied odds. You want to be playing people who cannot get away from overpairs. WP.

Hand two, as Ian says, sometimes I call, sometimes I shove at this point. Flushdraw and a pair is a good flop for that holding. If you call try really hard to hit an offsuit 2 or 6 on the turn and shove. Ah sure why not, shove it in.

    Hand 1
I was never going to fold this preflop. I felt certain that this guy was on an overpair or hadn't hit a badly played small PP. I thought leading was a good move as I was hoping for a raise to get it all in there and then.

    Hand 2
I actually pushed here too. I was a little concerned that the button had a made hand but was hoping for AK, AQ etc. I was certain I was ahead of the BB and that he was drawing (I couldn't see how he got anything out of that flop).
After my push the BB called and the button folded. No hearts came and my hand stood up. I didn't see the BB's hand but I reckon Ahxh.

Anyway, I wasn't too unhappy about my play in hand 1, but looking back over hand 2 alarmed me. Was I taking for granted the button didn't have any overpair, and maybe I was going in behind? After all, I was hoping that no heart would came, as I am behind to almost all draws if so.

Hand 1 is somewhat questionable preflop, well played from that point after
Hand 2 you are 50 50 with an overpair so you dont mind being called all in.

What site are you playing that you cant see his hole cards when two players are all in on the flop?
