i stand to be corredted on this but im pretty sure green gas is sufficient all year round

i *think* (ill have to look into it) but from what i remember, green gas is for temperatures under 15 degrees. when it gets hotter you might actually do some damage as it gets too powerful.

try HFC22 for the summer. Its a bit weaker.

( again, dont quote me on this, i'll have to check it further. i think its pretty correct though)

I just happen to have a can of the ould green gas in front of me and it does not say to use it in any specific temprature. It does how ever say do not leave it in a place over 40oC. It also shows the following table

    A. Red Colour
    *Weather Temperature Is
    Above 11oC
    Canister Gas Compression 9kg-10kg

    B. Blue Colour
    *Weather Temperature Is
    Under 10oC
    Canister Gas Compression 10kg-11kg

I am not sure what this means but it goes on to say "Please select exact color for suitable temperature of your area and season" This can I have is black, purple and green and is made by HFC. No sign of red or blue on it.
Maybe there is two different kinds of green gas??

during the summer the gas heats up and becomes stronger. so you shouldnt use green in warm to hot weather or it'll just be too much for your gun. breakage. thats info ive gleamed from looking through countless airsoft forums and websites. theres only one type of green gas. its all the same stuff. i wouldnt trust what it says on the bottle!

the red coloured gas would be summer gas. just under a different name
as it says on the can. *for above 11 degress*

the blue coloured gas is the green gas. *weather temperature is under 10 degrees*

I'm pretty new to this whole gas gun thing myself. Only got one there about three months ago. You really do have to make sure you use the right stuff. Even if the gun says to use green, use it at your own risk. It can be quite hard on the mechanism.

In saying that, my MAC still works fine. And believe me, if there's a test of how green gas works in a gun, this thing is it.

The shop I found it in was just a small shop that does gass appliances, camping gas and stuff. They had about 20 bottles of the stuff.

How much was in your greengas cans oisin? and how long did they last? Im sharing the propane with a m8 at the moment and it might well be in our interest to buy another can or 2 soon

my green gas can holds...it doesnt say  its about the same size as a Mr Sheen bottle or something of that nature. I'm still on my first one! quite a bit left in it yet. I dont really use my Mac that much. Any time i do, full auto is just too sweet not to do and i end up blasting through the mag in 3 seconds. on the next mag i try semi for about 4 shots and then just blast through full auto again. as you can probably imagine, it gets tiresome having to reload such a big staggared magazine every three seconds ;) so the gun goes away and i just use my AEG instead

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,518 ✭✭✭[--SC(+)PE--]

They realy are the worst thing to load without a speedlaoder arent they. Having to line em up right and all that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,595 ✭✭✭✭o1s1n

i know! if i use a speedloader they dont stagger properly and you get the odd gap. Doesnt do the gun any favours when its firing. but ah, hand loading 50 is just out of the question

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,518 ✭✭✭[--SC(+)PE--]

Their so much fun though on fullauto. On semi 2 for that matter

gotta love the blowback! The bolt on mine cycles so fast you think its gonna pop out of the gun......And then the mag is empty. *sigh* what i need is a barrel magazine :D

    Hi Lads
Getting back to the green gas, Bfsl have red gas, only good over 11c and they now have a gas for winter, 4c to 18c. works well and they have those KJworks Sigs, full metal, really nice gun, but very heavy, they also have glocks, m9s, P99s and HK usp.

Hey Vlmaxis, how much are Bfsl paying you ;)

you should make a thread about them..their prices..what they sell etc instead of posting on random posts. Be nice to see it all in one place together.

As far as me personally buying from them, by the sounds of prices, i'd still stick to importing my guns as its cheaper. But i'd deff be interested in buying some consumables.

There's an "impressions on retailers thread" stickied, but it would be nice to see one listing different retailers and their website addresses. Just in one locked thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 969 ✭✭✭MaxForce

As far as I know I dont think boards.ie will allow traders to advertise in the forum. vlmaxis is probably just another one of us who has come accross a chance to to get stuff localy instead of sending for it abroad. But you are right oisin, it has to be competivily priced. I was up in Enniskillen and I checked ont that gun and tackle shop at the end of the main street. They some nice guns but were around £110 for a beretta GBB in ABS and £90 for CO2 with a metal slide. A tub of about 2000 bb's was around £25, so I wont be going there for my stuff. I can tell you that.

I dont understand why local Airsoft suppliers, including the UK and that charge such crazy prices compared to Asian sites. I know there are extra charges for importing the guns etc, but nearly doubling the price? Taking advantage i think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 969 ✭✭✭MaxForce

Especialy at UK prices. £25 == about €32. Hopefully this guy at BSL will keep his prices low.

well, if he's selling that HFC Beretta scope has for €152 i think not

Sure i really dont mind importing guns. At all. I dont see the big problem with it. consumables on the other hand are a different story. I really hope he has a competitive price on his BBs and gas

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,518 ✭✭✭[--SC(+)PE--]

ya same as that, ill always import

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 90 ✭✭vlmaxis

It is OK buying from the states until something goes wrong, I am much happier to have someone here in Ireland to fall back on than have to go trough all the hassle of sending stuff all over the globe. I know of one guy who bought a gun in the states and by the time he paid all the duties on it and got it back from customs, the goodness was gone.
I vote for buy local and have a fall back on your doorstep.

    4000 Walther 0,23gr BBs for €22 or 6000 ASG gold fire 0,25gr for €22.
That is good value lads, O and by the way, I am not getting paid from BFSL, I just like dealing with people who get involved in the products they sell.

Buy local, pay through the nose, have it in your hand in a day.

Buy from China, pay half the price, no import tax/duties and have it in 6 days.

I know which one i'd go for.

Still, that's not bad price on bbs. I'm deffinatly going to look into that aspect of it.

By the way, i do think its great that someone in Ireland has taken the initiative to start importing. I'm not having a go at that or anything. It just annoys me when people start charging mad prices. Especially when you can get stuff for half the price. Good example of this is Wolfarmouries.co.uk I really dont know where the hell they come up with some of those prices.
