    Hi

First of all I am getting SKY HD in on Monday and I want to get cable the put in my attic and down through the cavity block to an existing NTL point. I think that the installers are not covered to go into my attic so I plan to install the cables my self. My question is what cable should I ask for.

    Thanks

RG59 MORE than adequate and more flexible/ durable, cheaper, smaller, for Component cables etc inside house. CT100 or better for RF, yes.

Hmmm i plan on using it for RF mainly. only a small run of component video and audio.

So where do i get a cheap 150m drum of ct 100 is the question i suppose?

    Thanks

I've only seen drums in either 100m or 250m. CT100 has got more expensive in the past year due to rising copper costs but still affordable.

I'm personally on the lookout for a well priced wholesaler of CT100.

    Be careful.

Unless you see something on the roll/packaging explicitly stating that its "CT100" (or equivalent/better) it could be complete cack.

Hardware stores tend to sell a lot of ungraded (i.e. junk) cable

does anyone know if RG6 is any good? i have some of this and i need to move my dish, i was gonna use it. it says on the cable "RG6 2.25GHz Digital Cable" dont know if this is relevant?

I pay 24 euro for 100m rolls of RG6 at the local electrical wholesaler. Perfectly adequete, and I have used it on box-dish runs up to about 60m or so without problem.

Made by €uronet, copper coated steel core with foam shield and aluminium braiding and shield.

AFAIK, RG6 is perfect for video (ie component) signals.

Guys I would avoid using RG6 on anything over 20m if at all possible. CT100 is recommended by trade organisations for good reason.
