If Ruu hadn't suggested it I would never have known there was a forum for general sports threads...sad but true :o

So, do you bowl? Are you a recreational bowler, do you have aspirations to learn or are you a competition pinslayer? :D

I am a former pinslayer, my local bowling alley in Cambridge doesn't do leagues and weren't very interested in my organising any leagues, seems like they make enough cash from the recreational bowlers :(

As a junior (Under-19) I bowled in the Irish Open and the Irish Masters as well as several leagues. I also played for my bowling centre house team.

    What about you?

Please pardon the pun in the thread title :D

    Methinks someone is imagining things.

To be honest I think the lack of ANY threads on ten pin bowling shows that there is no need for a forum. I would oppose such a forum on this basis and if one is to be created I would suggest it be put in the hosted category.

Yeah I see what you mean although to be honest I've been posting on boards.ie since January and I never even realised there was a generic 'Sports' forum where one could post about pretty much anything. I would have thought that the drop-down menu 'Sports' would have had a sports super-category with specific sub-categories cascading from there, not have all the sports in alphabetical order and then the 'Sports' forum buried between 'soccer' and 'surfing'.
Had I looked more closely perhaps I would have seen this but since it doesn't follow logic...I didn't :o

Anyway, Amz, so you bowl? Perhaps you should voice your opposition to the forum in the forum request thread? At least the admins are more likely to see it there. Personally, I think that the forum won't go anywhere which is a pity because it would probably take off if it did. Anyway, let's wait and see. :)

EDIT: The point of this thread was to get discussion going about bowling habits but even admiralgar who made the forum request just used it to plug the bloody request rather than discuss :rolleyes:Oh well, one can but try. :p
