The 1000 series are supposed to come with ESP cases... That said, lovely guitar!

Tis beautiful alright. The case I got with it tho is more of a one case fits all kinda thing, theres about an inch or just under of room for guitar to slide around inside which I assume is how the headstock ended up going thru the top of it.

Yeah, I'd have a word to GuitarBargains about that. I'm fairly sure the 1000 series come with cases but online shops seem to ignore it... How are you getting on with the EMGs?

Beautiful guitar! Any damage to the pointy bit? I'd be looking for a replacement case from the seller ... at the very least.

Yeah I just emailed em there, altho I sure their sick to death of me by this stage. They were getting an email about once a week for the last 4 months asking em when it was gonna get here!

Its a pair of EMG 81's in it but I've been using EMGs for years, have an 81 and a 60 in a V and SG so I knew what I was getting or so I thought. Maybe its the whole configuration but the tone out of this thing is amazing, beautiful warm tone when on the neck pick up and playing a slow solo picking over the 24th fret but seamlessly switching to a bright shred sound when you flick to the bridge and move your hand back a bit. The Fyod Rose I was a bit suspect of when buying as I've had terrible trouble with one on a Jackson RRV but that was only a liscenced one and is a pile of sh1te in comparrison. Cant get enough of this guitar!

4 Months waiting. I don't think i could of done that. That's not right man.

Still sweet guitar and I'm sure the wait made it even sweeter when it finally arrived.

    Did I just contradict myself?

That is gorgeous. Sorry to hear about the 4 month wait though, that must've sucked.

    congrats.

    However, I have a question.

What is it with boards.ie posters buying really ugly guitars?

I don't see enough posts of lusting over strats in daphne blue or surf green.

PS. 3 tone sunburst can go to hell.

    :D

It's not the rest of the world that has the problem ;)

What are you on about, this is a beautiful guitar! I myself might have gone for a different finish...maybe, but this is one hell of a guitar! and i want it...now.

And I think strats are ugly guitars., theyre just so plain and boring, never liked Fenders at all at all. Not a fan of Gibsons either. of course, that includes Fender and Gibson copies as well.

everyone is entitled to an opinon, but by christ surf green is mank is my opinon.

the OP'ers guitar is not my cup of tea (ie. wouldn't buy one myself ) but it has a smashing finish and i'm sure it sounds brilliantly and in the end isn't that all that counts?

An absolute dream! Its even balanced perfectly. Meaning its the first guitar I've ever owned that's headstock dosnt go south the minute you let go when strapped on! Dosnt budge!

I got a email back from them about the case. It would appear that a hardcase does NOT come standard with this model and they supply the free hard case with such guitars so as UPS will insure them. The case is considered as packaging so their not liable for any damage to it. The reply I got is below.

Thanks for your feedback and your pictures.
We indeed take care of the guitars a lot, but can not assure the case to be without damage when it arrives at the customers door as it is considered packing material.
We took notice of your suggestions, and will try to improve in the future.
Thank you once again and we hope you enjoy your guitar for many years to come.

Here’s the note on the complementary guitar cases found on our web site:
Because UPS Worldwide insures your instruments only when they are adequately packed, we offer a complementary FREE guitar case for every guitar that comes from the manufacturer without one for the protection of your guitar during shipping! So that indeed UPS fully insures YOUR guitar shipment!

This means, that if the package gets handled in a rough way, only the case (which is considered as packing material) is scratched and dented and ripped to pieces, and not the guitar! An excellent idea, when you realize your guitar will not be smashed to splinters during its long journey to your home...

The guitar case is a professional hard case of the highest quality, that solidly protects your guitar during shipping.

Guitars with non-standardized form are packed in a high quality, padded and durable waterproof bag that will protect even the strangest of corners on your guitar during shipping.

Expensive guitars that come with a dedicated flight case will be shipped in the original brand case, for protection during shipping.

So, for all electric, classic and bass guitars:
    Lowest prices every time
Complimentary FREE guitar case for protection of your guitar during shipping
Fully insured shipping by UPS Worldwide
    Absolute highest value!

Thank You again for shopping at guitarbargains.com !

    :EDIT:

Considering this guitar cost 1200 euro from their site I wonder what they class as expensive guitars?! lol

Write back telling them that your fellow band members were considering buying a range of very expensive guitars from them but that now you are so disappointed with their customer service that you have managed to convince the other guys in the band to buy elsewhere.

probably wont achieve anything but at least they'll be pissed off.

I remember having a very good experience with guitarbargains before, and I've been planning to get the Petrucci signiature model from them whenever I've got the cash for it, but this is far from making me enthusiastic about buying from them again. :(

Ishibashi sent me an esp edwards guitar with the same style headstick in a gigbag. The bag was torn, but the headstock was in perfect condition thanks to the huge levels of bubblewrap they use.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

They might consider it as packaging but if you talk to ESP UK, they will tell you that the 1000 series comes with an ESP hardcase... Well, in the shops it does anyway
