Stupid Customs people

I bought a saxophone on ebay a few weeks ago. It was shipped with USPS on the 10th, and it arrived in Ireland and went into customs on the 18th. Anyway, I called up An Post today, and they have no record of it coming into the country. The man explained that they scan the barcode on it and put another Irish one on over it. I called up customs, but they were closed at 4.15. That's the civil service for you.
I can just see it in a corner of a warehouse, with someone eating their lunch on it.

Anyway, I was wondering if this is a common problem, and also what the tax would be on it.

It should be clearing customs very soon. As for the duty and vat take a look here duty calculator Ignore the fact that it says guitars, the duty rate is either the same or close enough not to make a difference.
