Itunes install hanging

    Hi, am trying to install itunes 7 from cd on my pc - windows xp sp2. It goes so far and hangs. It is for gf's ipod and its already installed on her family pc - is that an issue? have looked on google and ilounge and can find a solution.

    dont have broadband so dont think downloading from apple site an option

    any help appreciated

    How long have you waited before cancelling the installation? I had the same problem with I was installing software for a Creative Zen Micro from CD, and I just left it for 30-40 minutes, and when I came back to the PC, problem solved.

    Otherwise, can you copy the installation file from the CD to your PC before opening it? This could help, if your problem is caused by communication between PC and CD.

    thanks for the advice, gave it hours and tried copying file from cd and running - no success unfortunately. Glad I havent bought an ipod myself - will probably pick a different mp3 player based on itunes experience so far
