    Howdy all,
I'm just after getting some time to go through my shots from
the summer. Here's a pano I took in Tenerife. Let me know
    what you think.

    Thanks for looking :)

EDIT:I added in a second pano shot there.

Very nicely done indeed. I've tried and failed to stitch photos together in the past but usually end up with a series of photos which aren't equally exposed i.e. some slightly darker than others. This shows up immediately when I try to stick them together. Any tips for maintaining a balanced exposure throughout? What software do you use for stitching the pics together? Also, focal length... is there a point at which the focal length is too wide causing lines to appear tilted?

    Heya Scorlóg,
That photo is 9seperate photo's. They're actually overlapping quite a bit.
Just looking at them, I don't usually overlap my pano's that much but then
again they don't usually turn out this well. When I'm taking pano shots I
will almost always use manual settings so that the colour wont differentiate.
I usually use photoshop-photomerge to stitch them together but lately I've
been noticing that their not turning out too well. I used autostitch for this one.

If you want I can send you the 9photo's to help you out.

Thanks. I usually do use manual or Av settings but haven't had results as good as that, especially not using the Photoshop tool. Thanks for the tips though.

The first one is superb - well done.

Is it just me or are the borders (in the first one) a bit overkill?

First, figure out what your exposure is going to be from the brightest part of the scene so that you don't blow the highlights then set that exposure in manual mode. Also very important, select a white balance manually (use shade or cloudy for warmer results from a sunset) - don't leave it on auto! As regards the lens, it's probably best to turn off autofocus to stop focus shifting between shots. Aim to overlap each shot by at least 1/3. Because of lens distortion, it's wise to avoid very wide angles, aim for at least 30mm. Another tip is to shoot in portrait format, which gives you the ability to use longer focal lengths and/or more wriggle room for cropping later

Yea your probably right Mike. The reason they're so big are that I was getting it ready for print 20x8 and this suited the size.

Thanks for all the comments so far :)
